  1. I've accepted my offer at Illinois State University!
  2. Thanks so much for your response! I've contacted the DGS once before and they emailed back within a day, but that was also over the summer. I'll have to check into a department coordinator or administrator, though! If I'm honest, I think I've narrowed it down to one of the existing offers and the program I haven't heard from yet. There would be a lot to look forward to with both programs, so it'll be a tough decision for me, assuming that I do get into this place with funding. The current program's acceptance letter mentioned enthusiastic interest in the work that I do from specific professors, which has really convinced me that they'd be a good fit for my research. Just have to see what this other school says, I suppose.
  3. Hi all! Hope your weekends are off to a good start! I want to see if anyone has advice for this situation I've found myself in: On Monday, I emailed one of the schools that I haven't heard back from, and I still haven't heard anything back, not even a confirmation email or some kind of generic response. (It was a direct email to the DGS, who was the contact listed for this program.) There are people who were accepted and rejected from this program weeks ago, and I've had no notice of anything. I'm trying to be patient, but I have two very exciting fully funded offers to consider. The problem is that this program that I emailed was my #1 when sending applications, which is why I emailed to check in about the timeline for notifying. Is there anything else that I can/should do to try and figure out where I stand with this program? Or am I just kind of stuck waiting at this point? Really, all I want is to have a complete set of information to work with so that I can fully think out my decision.
  4. Hi all! Has anyone heard from Binghamton on the fiction side of things? (I saw that there's been some acceptances on the poetry side.) Is anyone else still waiting to hear anything from Syracuse University? And has it been radio silence for the University at Albany? These are the last three PhD programs that I'm waiting on. I'm thrilled to have an acceptance with a Teaching Assistantship, and I'm on two waitlists (with the top spot on one of those waitlists). Trying to be patient while trying to get this all figured out is agonizing.
