  1. I got a CGS D!! Committee 197 - Electrical Engineering. I'm over the moon right now! I knew it was going to be really competitive so I didn't get my hopes up, but this makes a huge difference for me honestly. Also for those curious: Currently at 2.5 years in grad school total, did a transfer from MSc to PhD at McMaster for Engineering Physics. I previously received a CGS M, I have two first author papers, a second author paper in Nature, four conference papers, and three patents. Also if it's relevant my research topic is new lasers for optical satellite communication with the Optical SatCom Consortium (https://www.opticalsatcom.com/). Congratulations to everyone who made it this far, this is hella competitve and while I know it's not possible for everyone to get an award even if that'd be dope, I hope any of you who didn't get it can reapply and get it next year. Remember to take some time for self care regardless of the results, this has been extremely stressful on everyone I feel.
  2. Still no email yet, I'm losing it lol
  3. From the sound of it, that's a waitlist notification. Fingers crossed you get bumped and get one!
  4. Congrats! That's huge do you mind if I ask what program? Its always nice to see the spread
  5. It should let you know if you're waitlisted explicitly. My understanding is that it's also going to display your ranking, which will give you a better idea of the likelihood of getting off the list if that happens.
  6. I hope they don't go west to east or us Ontarians will be finding out at like 10 pm lol
  7. The screaming begins, I hope we get some news soon. I don't have the lung capacity to keep this up all night haha
  8. I think worrying about this scholarship may have taken more time away from my research, cumulatively, than studying for my comp exam. How are we supposed to be productive under these conditions! Lol
  9. In my experience it depends on the school and potentially even the faculty. At least for me, I received CGS M at McMaster in engineering physics, and I received the full amount of the scholarship and my stipend. I never understood clawbacks, it takes away motivation to apply and students aren't exactly paid well in the first place. Not to mention cost of living soaring these days
  10. Fingers crossed for everyone! The wait is killing me. I've been following the thread for a while but just made an account today to participate in the madness at 5-6pm. I don't know how I'm going to get any work done
