  1. Yeahgradschool! Congrats. I was accepted to Heinz too, but for the Information Technology and Management program!
  2. Looks like March madness has begun. I've just received an email from UT Austin saying that decisions will be posted on the website the beginning of next week. Congrats to those accepted somewhere and good luck to those still waiting. EDIT: forgot to say, this is for the MPAff program.
  3. Congrats, hattaba!! Did your application status change on the ApplyYourself website?
  4. Congratulations on the acceptance, D-Lux... I have not yet heard about funding. Browsing past year threads in these forums, I think we may here mid-March!
  5. There is an Erasmus Mundus scholarship that funds the program but not all accepted students receive the scholarship...
  6. Yet on another thread you made you said: "Did anybody apply for the MPA/ID at KSG? I applied with quant GRE of 710, Master's training in applied econometrics from the U.S. 3years of working experience with the ministry of agriculture in an african country,Internship with the Jeff Sach's team at the earth institute, Columbia"... Anyways, best of luck to you and all others with your applications.
  7. Hi, greenvariance. I also got in the Erasmus Mundus program without scholarships... Do you know how much does the program cost for the two years?
  8. I submitted mine on December 12th or 13th -a couple of days past the fellowship deadline . However, my transcript got lost in transit -thanks, FedEx- and it was received on January 5th!
  9. Congrats on the Wagner admission, SubjectNotebook! Man, I am now really anxious about my application there!
  10. I think it is really useful, especially for those of use who have never been around a US grad school before.
  11. I see you're not dead set on getting an MPA but, even if you do, and you have and otherwise strong application, some programs do not require the GRE -NYU comes to my mind. Best of luck!
  12. Haha sorry for that!
  13. Per UrbanWonk's post: "Schools Applied To: Brown, CMU, Harvard, Pitt, Birmingham, Univ Coll London (these are for sure, also potentially Columbia, GWU, NYU, RIT) Schools Admitted To: " So I believe he is still waiting on all those programs.
  14. I only applied to the MPA. My app was complete in early January and heard back on January 28 via email. Good luck!
  15. Admission at Maxwell it's rolling. They started sending out acceptances even a couple of days before the deadline. Congrats!
  16. If you can read anything from Jorge Ibarguengoitia, I am sure you'd enjoy it. sometimes he uses Mexican slang, but overall it's books have a simple structure and very funny. You can find either a novel and books with his column from a Mexican newspaper. Another option would be Arturo Perez Reverte (I personally do not like his style, but its entertaining and easy to read).
  17. Oh I get it now... Thanks very much! I guess I'll have to wait a little more
  18. @Melo thanks for your reply. However, I am still confused because on the email I received form the Graduate School it says, literally, that they cannot issue the official letter of admission until I have sent proof of adequate funding for the first year of the degree and it says how much will the cost of attendance be... So I should still wait to see if a was awarded something before submitting the bank statement?
  19. Hi guys... I need some help. I was conditionally accepted to a couple of MPAs but, since I am an international applicant, I need to provide evidence of enough money so they can send the official admission letter (the one needed to get the visa and apply for scholarships in my country). Does this mean I was not awarded any funding by the department?
  20. Hey TJ19, I am an international applicant applying to MPAs, I am a paramedic too and I was looking into concentrations in emergency/disaster management such as the one offered at GSU. How is the program in the US? Do you happen to know how is the prospective job-hunt for its students? Also, if you're looking into Disaster Management programs and are willing to move abroad, check the Master in Emergency & Disaster Management offered in Tel Aviv University. The program is entirely in English http://www1.tau.ac.il/emergex/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=37&Itemid=44
  21. I received my first acceptance last Thursday from one of my top choices while I was in my university computer lab trying to print several copies of my undergraduate thesis because I will stand it's oral defense in about a week. So I opened my email to download my thesis file and I saw something about "Congratulations from XXXX school". I was not expecting it so fast (the deadline is next week). I tried to keep calm, but I couldn't. I left the building almost bouncing. I called my mom, then met with a couple of friends that were in the building, called one recommender and emailed another... I got so exited I forgot to print my thesis. Forgot to say: I am now really anxious about other acceptances and especially about financial aid from the school that has already accepted me.
  22. I applied to Wagner for fall '11 (submitted on Jan 4). I am an international applicant with research experience on public policy (9 months) and experience as a project manager at the federal government in my country (almost 2 years). I have a BA in Politics and Public Administraiton, my undergrad GPA is 93 out of 100, GRE is 600Q, 680V, 4.0 AW. I have not heard anything yet, tho'.
  23. On the 27, I also got an email announcing I was accepted. I sent my online application on the second week of December, and my recommendations and transcripts were sent on the first week of January.
