  1. Thanks buddy . Hey that's the Problem i had , thaks for the info Actually my scenario is like , i have 3 Ph.D Prof who can give me Lor's . But out of them i have worked closely with only one Prof, who has promised me a Strong Lor. The other two prof have said that they could provide a general (a moderate Lor i guess) one . But i have two other Asst. Prof (pursuing-Ph.D) with whom i have worked closely and provide me with good Lor's . So my dilemma was , whether it was to 'Ph.D with moderate Lor' or 'Asst. Prof with Good Lor' . What do you say >?
  2. Sure , I am looking forward for spl. in Artificial Intelligence and my second spl. would be Pervasive/Mobile Computing. I would like to filter them based on funding scenario and the job opportunity. Like i find the fee to be Nominal in Suny but i fear the NY has a very high living cost . so i kinda need to filter some of them.
  3. Guyz can you help me out with the list i have prepared to apply for FALL 2011 , Please comment on the college that i have good chances of acceptance so that i can shortlist them to 6 . My Profile Fall 2011:MS CS:GRE:1290(520V,770Q,3.5) TOEFL: 105; Aggr; 80% Dr.MCET,Anna University List of Colleges i have Planned - Arizona State University North Carolina State University, Raleigh Missouri University of Science and Technology SUNY, Stony Brook SUNY, Binghamton University of South Florida Clemson University University of Connecticut Kansas State University The University of Texas at Dallas The University of Texas at Arlingon Northeastern University University of South Carolina, Columbia University of Southern California(Found it costly ) Thanks and regards, Manoj
  4. Ya , some senior lectures and Asst. Prof are currently pursuing their PHD's . Will it ok be to get a Letter of recommendation from them ?
  5. Does Letter of recommendation can be obatained from a Senior Lecture who is an assistant professor, as they have personally handled classes for me. I see that every graduate program asks for a average of 3 letters. I have planned to obtain my Lor from a PHD prof (under whom i have done my project),Asst. Prof(Who has the Head of myDepartment) and a Senior Lecture (also n Asst Professor) who has handled classes for me. Will this weaken my Profile or does Letters from non-PHD ppl still count ? And how to make an Lor's to a strong one ? I have had good acads in all their subjects , but i didn't get any chance to make research during my undergraduation . Thanks and regards, Manoj
  6. Thank you ! I find that every enitity plays a vital role in the admission process. . . So my Sop had to deal with my areas of interest with a comment on a recent finding / work in my area of intertest. This is a very usefull point , thank you fellas.
  7. But i didn't have a chance to do my research in undergarduate level , except for my final year project. I am presently working in an Indian MNC. If you say , universities would look in to my previous research experience , what do you mean ?
  8. Hi newms, I am plannin to do a research based Masters in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Can you filter out the universtiies from the list i have mentioned above and also indicate my approx. chances of getting in to them...... regards, Manoj
  9. Oh ! Ok , So i better start checking out these universities too... Thanks rs_nucl
  10. So there will be a tough competition this fall2011, maybe. . Which other univ's would you suggest for safe list ??
  11. Thank for your comments rs_nucl i will consider taking GRE again. But with this score do i still have a chance at NCSU or ASU for FALL 2011 ? Which other universities in my list could you tell to be safe according to my current profile ?
  12. So you mean i Give another Shot at GRE to improve my analytical score. Or can i have a possibility of getting in the universities i have mentioned.

  14. Hey Guys , Thanks for the info . I was quite lost as to where i should be starting with . So i just emptied down ma mind into a whole series of Questions there. Since my GRE score is kinda quite weak for the universities i have mentioned , i think i gotta re work again . How do i find the Univ to match ma GRE profile ? Will ASU be a safe one for me or on a Mod list , could you comment on my acceptance @ ASU , university of Arizona ?
  15. I have a GRE score of 1290(v-520,Q-770) and AWA of 3.5 . My Undergraduate was in Computer science and i scored 80% with distinction . I have done many mobile related Projects. Can you please help me with the list of Universities that are safe , provides scholarship, has good acceptance percentage and research opportunities for Mobile/Pervasive/Ubiquitous computing, if i am applying for MS in computer science.I currently have a 1.3 yr Experience in a Indian MNC. Can you also tell the possibilities of getting a MS in CS. at 1)Arizona State University(has research in Mobile/Pervasive Computing), 2)North Carolina State University(has research in Mobile/Pervasive Computing) , 3)University of Houston (has research in Mobile + Course on Gaming) 4)University of Texas,Dallas 5)University of Southern California(MS in Cs/MS in CS with Gaming Concentration) (found it expensive ) 6)University of Florida (has research in Mobile/Pervasive Computing) 7)UCLA (has research in Mobile/Pervasive Computing) I have two options i) To take up MS in Computer Science and to further Continue my works towards ubiquitous and pervasive computing Fields. ii)To take up MS in Computer Science with concentration in Gaming/Game Engine development (in universities that are not costly) My second option is For Gaming, can you plz provide info on how costly and the acceptance rates are for these universities 1)DigiPen Institute 2)Full Sail 3)UAT 4)University of California (Santa Cruz) Can some one provide me with info on both these options and list the pros and cons
