I just heard back from Windsor for the advanced standing MSWwp today and I have accepted the offer

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well!  
On March 27th I received an offer of admission to the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus for the MSW Advanced Standing program! It was my number one choice, so I could not be more thrilled and have already accepted the offer! 
I just wondered if anyone else is planning on attending UBCO for their MSW programs this fall? If so, I would love to connect! 

I didn’t apply to McGill (couldn’t cause they only have an advanced standing MSW), but I am from Montreal, so if I don’t get into Carleton (I’m waitlsited), then we can always hang out if you’d like!

Anyone in here who's from Ontario get accepted to McGill? Just wanna make a friend :')

McGill started sending out their decisions today. Saw a status update on the application page with a rejection letter attached. Congratulations though to those who were accepted!
I have heard back from all the schools I applied to and will be accepting U of T’s offer 😊 Hope to see some of you folks in September!

Both advanced standing MSW

A full time course load for an entire school year is usually 8-10 classes; so 4-5 classes per semester. But I think as long as you maintain a mid B average than the amount of courses you're taking won't matter? To be completely sure, I'd contact the school you got into to ask.

I haven't heard anything yet either!

I admittedly considered this as well because I have family in the states until I remembered student loans probably wouldn't even cover half of the tuition/fees 😂 I hope you get into uManitoba so you don't have to go with this option!

Hi everyone, I received an acceptance to Carleton’s 1 year program yesterday afternoon. I hope everyone else who applied hears back soon!

Based on previous year's forums, this was a good sign for people, so it is likely one for you as well. 

Got waitlisted for Carleton's non BSW program for the second time :'). Considering the fact that they send offers out to 35 people it makes sense that more than 10 declines are needed for offers to be made to people on the waitlist. I calculated and since they made offers to 9 people on the waitlist last year and the program is only big enough for a cohort of 25 people each year, that means 19 applicants rejected their offers last year. (meaning 16 people accepted their offers and they needed to fill the cohort which explains why they made offers to 9 people on the waitlist). Either way, good luck to anyone who's also on the waitlist, and I hope you receive positive results from the other schools you applied to

My god thats crazy 😭 I knew Carleton was competitive but I didn't know the cohorts were that small. I hope you squeeze in!!! ❤️

Hi Everyone! Just got my acceptance earlier today to University of Windsor MSW 2 year steam and it included a Scholarship for first year🙂 Wanted to connect with others who also got in!
Also need some advice as they only gave 21 days to accept or decline and I am still waiting to hear back from the following schools below, but the time lines might not add up and I'm not sure if I should accept Windsor on their deadline if I don't hear back in time from anywhere else? I would ideally like to weight multiple pros and cons of the various schools before making a decision.
I also applied to Carleton MSW- should be hearing back soon in Feb
 Western MSW- the website said you'll hear back by march
Mc Master Psychotherapy -got shortlisted and did the interview and they said decisions will be announced in March
And lastly OISE counselling psych - website had no estimate of timeline of hearing back.

I am graduating with a BA in psych in April 2024. I applied to the 2-year MSW program at UofT and I am so nervous. Feb/March needs to come around ASAP!! After speaking to people in the program and others who have applied and got accepted, waitlisted, etc I am so anxious. Some have said that UofT loves research experience which made me hopeful since I don't have as much experience as other applicants, but someone who read my personal statement said it was strong and if I do get rejected its probably due to my lack of experience. Currently acting as if I got an acceptance already and began planning around it as a form of manifestation 😭 Sending good vibes to all of you who applied this cycle!! See you all in Feb/Mar 🫡
My stats: 3.7 GPA, ~ 2500 hours in social work related experience (research, paid, and volunteer), thesis project, lots of social justice and advocacy volunteer experience and student leadership on campus
