I have not heard back! But I just emailed my POIs that I interviewed with.

I’m emailing POIs today for sure: ucla uci usc waiting on results of Brown interview.

So for UCLA they say they start rolling out in mid Feb. good to hear about UCI. We shall see. i got a personalish email fthis morning from Notre Dame director of grad studies in Anthro saying i had made it to semi final, but not the short list and wishing me luck. so now I’ve got thee denials but only one was a school I was really interested in moving for. The others were low priority.

Hang in there!!!!! You have nine total apps right. Anything can happen. I heard of someone getting an acceptance in April. It’s a headache to imagine waiting that long. But it’s still something to hold close. I hope we all find somewhere to go that helps our research to grow—even if it is not what we expected.

Like a few other notes in the results that show up at odd times in the cycle or on several posts. but your question makes me think, has anyone done this to an admissions committees ? like a whole fake application? i think you’re fine.

I got my interview request on a Sunday morning!!!

There are just so many odd looking posts. One that’s shows up often across disciplines is: the gpa ia for two masters. And then there is no gpa even listed. ?

Many departments will have a contact that may or may not answer questions with full transparency. There have been a lot of shifts re the issues with this process and changes have been made at many institutions. in general, you want to express continued interest and either ask them where they are in the process or if a certain step has been taken or where you are. I find I get more information when I ask about the process in general. depending on what your feelers tel you, either contact the poi or the admissions contact. When I have contacted the admissions lead within the department my inquiry has been well received with the exception of one school—she gave me bit of a cold, scripted response. She was not faculty but administrator. And honestly when that happens you should pay attention. It is information for you in general about how things roll in that department.

Has anyone emailed UCI?

for USC folks, I learned today that they have not met to discuss a short list. They are wrapping up two faculty hires. They will meet to discuss early to mid February.

Welp guess I’m not getting a Berkeley interview ?

Got my WashU rejection this morning. I’m not surprised. It was a forced match.

UCI app here too. No updates. Has anyone who applied to UCI made contact with the department level admissions contacts? Or POI? I think this coming week I’ll start sending emails expressing continued interest and request information on the next steps in process.

I feel like the system is so odd. And we will never figure it out. I am a social/cultural track applicant.
