    haven't had any interviews thus far so can't speak on that part. my most important reasons for transferring are kind of specific therefore won't necessarily go into them, but i explained those as well as how the three "tracks" my current program follows don't really align with what my research interests are! i also contacted many programs to discuss how they evaluated transfers/reapplicants. all of them were understanding and explained i wouldn't be penalized for things out of my control, which i was relieved to hear.

    @zh_awki agree with @whyamIhere— i know it may sound easier said than done, but try not to despair. i've been through this process twice, and my rejection from cornell last year hurt so much. the truth, though, is that programs are just so selective. you never know. i'm wishing you the best of luck!

    so excited for you, and congratulations! fwiw, they offered me funding, and it was a stipend of $20.4K. i'm going to go to the admitted students day, but the stipend offered to me from umiami is still more even when accounting for the COL, so i may reject UA's offer!

    yeah, i could also give some perspective on this! in my email from umiami, my funding information was provided in the letter they sent me. in my email from ualbany, they told me my funding information would come out around a week after my acceptance, and it came around 1-3 days after. it just varies by department!

    thank you! and the university of miami and suny albany— i applied (but am technically a re-applicant this cycle since i'm in my second semester, first year of my current phd program) as a medical sociology concentrator! both are such good fits i'm losing my mind :')

    i've only seen one person upload a result thus far. i think there's still hope! i also applied to ualbany. they're a good fit, but i'm also "meh" in terms of the chances i have.

    yeah, i didn't get my first acceptance last year until late january! the rest were mid-february to early march.

    lol let it be known i overreacted and everything was fine the stress is getting to me i'm just glad to be officially done :') ❤️

    not me currently having a breakdown because i was making last-minute corrections on my CV and tried to submit my application before the deadline and it wouldn't let me submit it at all (even though i was trying three minutes before and on the deadline) so i emailed the department about it not letting me lol might cry

    hi everyone! i'm applying as a transfer applicant/reapplying as a first-year phd student this cycle. applying/already applied: UF, UMiami, CU-Boulder, UOregon, Pitt, UVA, Maryland, BU, BC, CWRU, UArizona, WUSTL, Penn State, JHU, Cornell, and Yale may apply: Stony Brook, Columbia (master's) i wish all of you so much luck! the process can be grueling, but i'm hoping for the best for all of you!
