I wish everyone a nice week with positive news. Unfortunately a huge earthquake struck the southeastern part of my country this morning
-
Do you know whether they only offer admission to the applicants who had interview with the committee? Me and some other applicants didn't receive interview invitation from Georgetown and I was unsure whether it would reject my application. Hope that both you and us can get positive news from Georgetown.
-
Yes, you are right. For instance, I worked around four months under the guidance of a professor from Harvard Business School MENA Research Center but he stated that he only writes LORs for the students who took courses from him:/
-
Did you also apply for MIT? I could see very few applicants who applied for MIT PhD program.
-
I also would like to a question concerning research assistantship opportunities: I am an International applicant and if this application cycle doesnt go well for me, I am planning to prepare and apply again during Fall 2023. I would like to participate in research projects (mostly quantitative research) so that I can contact with Professors in the US Universities. Is there any forum, Website etc. from which I can learn about available R.A opportunities? I tried to reach out different professors last year through email, worked under the guidance of them for specific time period but unfortunately these were short-time tasks and didn't turn into LORs .

I think Columbia might announced its results, based on the last year results (I assume rejection, though). Also, Georgetown or Michigan might send its results.
-
I didn't know that Northwestern is around 20th in terms of its ranking.
-
I think they would not provide us a clear answer; probably they would respond that the applications are still under review.
-
Did you get interview from Georgetown? I also didn't hear anything from Georgetown and I didn't get interview email from them. However, don't assume rejection from Georgetown. I have no knowledge about NYU.
-
Congratulations for your Berkeley acceptance At least, you had the chance of getting admission from Berkeley and they offered admission. For some applicants who got their BA and MA degree from Non-US universities, it is almost quite rare to get admission from some US universities like Berkeley. I didn't assume this as an applicant who applied to PhD programs for the first time during this cycle but I guess there are also some "unwritten cut-off" preferences of the U.S universities.

Did you receive any email from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill? I am an Ä°nternational Applicant and among the posts, I couldn't see many applicants who applied for UNC.
-
Anyone who received interview invitation from Georgetown University? Should I assume that no more invitations would arrive from them and rejection would be on its way from Georgetown University Department of Government? Also, anyone applied for University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill?
-
I still didn't receive any email from UChicago and no change in the application portal. Hope that it would be a good sign but I assume it would not, after seeing several rejection posts.
-
I emailed to Cornell Political Science Department around January 20th and the staff replied to me that the admission committee was still reviewing the applications and the results would arrive around 3th week of February. This was her answer.
-
Anything new about the University of Chicago news? I could see only either 3 or 4 posts; regularly checking application portal but still no change there and no email.
-
Congratulations. Did you receive email from the University or did you check through your application portal? By the way, did you get your Master degree from US Universities or abroad? I applied to Chicago as well, Comparative Politics Tracking and from non-US institution.
-
I also have just checked the application portal but there is no change there.
-
I have just seen one American applicant claiming admission from UChicago. Has anyone received any email from UChicago?
-
I was checking my email box nervously and I also received rejection email from Boston University; Comparative Politics and applicant from non-US University. First rejection; not a good start I was thinking that If Boston University rejects my application; it is more likely for other universities to send rejections to my application; Boston was one of the universities which at least have some knowledge about the universities in Turkey ?
-
Until now, I didnt receive any email from Boston University.
-
Did you get your Master degree from a US University or from non-US University? It is interesting for me to see that professors in the admission committee were concerned about your writing skills because previous years, some applicants couldn't submit their GRE Scores due to the pandemic. What might be the reason why Professors were concerned about the Writing skills of an applicant? ?
-
I saw one applicant who shared about his interview with Georgetown committee and it was last Friday. At this stage, I am not sure whether they would send interview invitation. However, as far as I know from last year; some of the admitted applicants were not being interviewed by Georgetown committee. Fingers crossed. I would be glad if you can let me know about CUNY because although I emailed them before, I couldn't even receive any email return. Even after finishing my online application to CUNY, I received one sample email.

I have just seen that an applicant who applied for Boston University has stated as being waitlisted. Anyone received any email from Boston?
-
I already began to lose my hopes for admission from Georgetown University, I think it was a wrong decision to apply there ?
-
I also applied to Georgetown, Boston University and good to see another applicant who applied to City University of New York (CUNY) I couldn't find data on CUNY Political Science PhD program and just waiting the results through checking their portal. My friend applied to Brown University Phd program and he got rejection email yesterday.
