  1. Is it wise to choose the MA in International Human Rights at Korbel with 75% tuition funding? I would still have to pay another 20k USD in tuition and would be on a tight RA-ship stipend for living costs. Great coursework, great research opportunities, International internship component, plus work in mass atrocity prevention which is what I want. Other option is to take the fully funded MA in global studies at UCSB which is a little general and interdisciplinary and I may have limited research opportunities in atrocity prevention. I don't love the coursework, but it is decently comparable. I am not aware of related research opportunities. I am very confused and don’t want to make the wrong choice. I am definitely taking weather, funding, coursework and research opportunities into account. My partner is planning to move to SF and I want to pursue a PhD in the future. Both have an international internship component which might be department funded. Korbel seems to have the better networks and more motivated people. My background is I come from an interdisciplinary masters which is more general and I want to do a more specialised degree for my second masters which is available at Korbel.
  2. Hi, I just found this thread and am super nervous as well. Do you think we would hear by the 4th of February like in the past few years or would it take longer? If so, we should know in less than a week if it's good news. (Touch wood and fingers crossed) I’m interested in interdisciplinary work concerning human rights, conflict studies, international law and policy. I am going to be looking at war crimes/human rights violations investigations using OSINT tools and am looking at developing methodology around it.
