It was an acceptance e-mail..I hope you get yours soon. Good luck!

I got an admit as well but my situation is sort of different. I actually applied to the dual degree program (MBA/MPP) at Michigan but I was waitlisted by their business school. However, I don't know if I can convince them to take me of their waitlist because of this news from the Ford School since an admit to one school does not guarantee an admit to another school . Weird, I know....I have a lot of thinking to do although even if they take me off business school waitlist, the business school will not offer me any funding/financial aid

I got my admit about 5 mins ago! Yay.....not word on funding yet though. They will contact students next week they said....I hope you all get good news soon. Good luck! Oh in case you are wondering I am an international student from Africa..
-
You guys are all nuts with your speculations and crazy predictions...alright I am going to add mine then March 23rd 9.00pm West African time (3pm EST)
-
Right, then I hope your strong scores get your into HKS...
-
That is so not correct. My friend had a 3.0 AW and a 600V and 730Q and he got into HKS. I don't think they only look at your score. You should be fine if they believe you are a good fit for their program. I am sure you have other things that you bring to the table apart from your GRE scores. The decision is no longer in your hands so wait and be hopeful for some good news.

Passat 1, you might be in the group that will get funding. I applied to MIA and submitted my application 2 mins to the deadline I was part of the first wave of admitted students but I did not get any funds . Good luck and I hope get good news soon
-
I wonder how people have so much time debating statistics when this admission decision is already out of your hands
-
I don't think it is done by policy field because my friend and I who both got our admits to the MPA program have different policy fields on our application. Besides, according to the WWS site, "During the first semester, students have ample time to determine whether this field best fits their interests or whether they would prefer to switch to another field. There is no set enrollment for each field. The admissions committee selects candidates whose strengths best match the objectives of each area of concentration." I hope you get good news soon. Good luck to everybody

Any of the admitted folks going for the Hosting Program in March? I got the schedule today. They have a lot of events lined up....let me know if anyone is going
-
Thanks for the info.

Guys, speculation does not ease the tension, it makes it worse. Just hope for the best. I wish you all good luck and great news from HKS! name='EconSpengler' timestamp='1299788105' post='218817'] I think I remember reading somewhere (most likely somewhere on this forum) that they rank each candidate on a scale of 1 to 4 in each of these categories: Leadership, Commitment to Public Service, Academics, Special Talent / Extraordinary Backgroud / Diversity. I could be way off base though. Anyone please feel free to show me the error of my ways.

Fadeindreams, do you know how the School notifies us about admissions? Is it via Wolverine (online website) or e-mail. Thanks!

I don't think your AW score will be the only thing that will knock you out of a top school. A friend who had a 3.0 AW last year applied with solid work experience, good recommendations and SOP for his applications to HKS. In fact his verbal GRE scores were not even high but you know what....he applied anyways and he got in with a good amount of funding. AW score, GRE scores or GPAs are not the determining factors. They look at your application as whole and decide if you are good fit for the program and will ultimately contribute to program and your classmates experience. What am I saying? Relax folks, it is out of your hand at the moment, you have already submitted the application and there is nothing more you can do. It makes sense to wait for Harvard to tell you YES, you are in, NO, you are not and WE LIKE YOU BUT, chill on the waitlist.

I got in but I did not get any funding. If you get any scholarship or you were admitted to the IFP, it will say so on your admission letter...according to the latest blog from SIPA. Good luck!
-
You are right PoliticallyAff, I think the letters are customized. A friend of mine who also got an admission e-mail got something slightly different from mine...at least that was what he told me. I hope you all get in...good luck!
-
I got it 4.34 am Nigerian time.....I hope you get yours soon. Good luck.
-
You are right SweetTea, the acceptances are quite funny too:"We look forward to hearing from you. Please let us know your plans for attending the Hosting Program as soon as possible. If we don’t hear from you, we know where you live. We feel honored to admit you to the Woodrow Wilson School and look forward to having you join us.

Yes, international student here from Nigeria. I got my admit via e-mail this morning (although my mailing address was to my sister in Boston, MA). I have not been able to sleep since then. Been checking and rechecking my inbox to make sure the e-mail was actually correct I am so super excited! Now it is time to hear about some scholarships......
-
You guys were right. I got an official confirmation from Jalilah that I was accepted although my admission letter was sent to my sister's address in the US. So I am waiting until she gets it to see if I got any funding...fingers crossed. I am so excited! Good luck to other people. P.S. Something interesting happened though, I got an e-mail from the student affairs office that I did not pay my application fee....I took care of it already though. Very interesting how my application got through without the application fee

Goldman School (UC Berkeley) is about 11% according to their 2010 profile - 662 applied only 75 entered the class.....
-
Sarah L, I will let you know if I hear anything. Good luck with your application...hope you hear some good news.
-
Seems we don't have a thread for Ford School...thought I should start one. Any ideas on when we should hear back from the school? I am waiting eagerly (of course with some nice funding too )
-
Maybe you will get funding mcostach....good luck. I now the waiting sucks. Would you mind sharing some of that fellowship with us if you get funding
-
So sorry to hear that apsuwa, I hope you get favorable decisions from other schools. Good luck.
