  1. Well I am heading to syracuse. Thanks for voting.
  2. Any one else have an opinion? Any comments would be greatly apreciated.
  3. Hello I am trying to make a decision of were to attend this up coming year and I need your help I created the above poll from the schools that offered me funding. I also was admited to the following: U Denver, Michigan, American, and waitlisted at duke Here is my previous thread: Basically I am interested in International Economics, International Trade, International Finance, and Policy Analysis. I was offered funding at the following levels: 10,000 per year from Syracuse 21,000 per year from Johns Hopkins 19,000 per year from University of Chicago Instate tuition plus 1,000 per year from University of Texas At this time I am leaning toward Syracuse because of perceived lower overall cost and the strongest alumni base. Which would you choose if you were me? What would you say are the strengths and weaknesses of each school? Where can I go to get stats that would give me a hint at the true costs of each program? Thanks for the help!
  4. I got some funding as a joint MPA/IR(10,000 per year) email this mourning. Hope everyone else gets some good news.
  5. Just got an email stating that decisions will be sent out by email over the next couple days in no particular order.

Strength of LOR (be honest, describe the process, etc): Two economic professors and the VP of the logistics company I worked for.

  14. Johns Hopkins called offering me acceptance into their program as well. Just need to find out about funding.
  15. Got my admission email like a week ago and I am waiting on funding like everyone else. The packet claims only about 20 people are alowed into the program each year so If I end up going then I will probably meet some of you in this thread. DevDoc82, what other schools did you apply to and why is Syracuse your top pick?
  16. Can some one take a look at my SOP for a Masters in Public Policy. I will send it over PM.
  17. I don't have a foreign language so I didn't bother with GWU. Anyone out there have anything else to add? I have made a few changes to the list. From what I have read I should have 3 tiers: reach schools, either way schools, and safe schools. The problem is I seem to be top heavy with someof my either way schools actually being reaches(or visa versa) which is why I need your help. Reach Schools: Universityof Chicago: The Harris school Programs: Master of Public Policy Specialization: International Policy Syracuse University: Maxwell School Programs: MPA/MIR Specialization: Global Markets/Global Security (and with dual PublicManagement) Either way Schools: Universityof Michigan--Ann Arbor: Gerald Ford School of Public Policy Programs: Master of Public Policy(MPP) or posible dual degree with Masters inecon Specialization: Economic Policy or Methods of Policy Analysis The Johns Hopkins University: Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) Programs: Master of Arts in Public Policy Specialization: International Policy Duke University: Sanford School of Public Policy Programs: Master of Public Policy Specialization: Global Policy-Global Trade and Finance American University: The School of International Service Program: Master of Arts in InternationalAffairs in International Politics (M.A.I.A.) Specialization: International Economic Relations Safe Schools: University of Denver: The Josef Korbel School of InternationalStudies Programs: Master of Arts in Global Finance Tradeand Economic Integration (GFTEI) GeorgeMason University: School of Public Policy Programs: Master of Public Policy(MPP) Specialization: InternationalCommerce and Policy (ICP) TheUniversity of Texas at Austin: Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs Programs: Master of Global Policy Studies Specializations: International Trade andFinance Does this look realistic or correct? I am thinking of adding one more school (maybemy Alma mater Georgia State University or another reach school). For now I took out NYU wagner, was that agood choice? Harris school is not an APSIA member, should I knock it down a bit? Also I just god my actual GRE scores and I hadthe numbers in the ones and tens place reversed. Actual scores: 730Q 610V AW:4.5 I guess that it is better in my case to have ahigher quant score.
  18. What do you think of my chances? What do you say are the strengths and weaknesses of Korbel? What is the range of funding given to 1st year students?
  19. I don't really have a second language so I don't think I can get into Tufts. I took the GRE today. 710Q:630V total:1340 You tell me it is essential to get 1350+ and I get a 1340....amazing....Perhaps if I get a pretty good analytical writing score it will push me over the edge. Korbel Student, thanks for the information. Could I give you a call if I want additional information.
