  1. I haven’t seen any acceptances either. I’m most likely turning down Columbia, so I hope Arkansas pulls through.
  2. Congrats!!! Also received a scholarship for fiction. Maybe I’ll see you there!
  3. How hard is it to get a scholarship at New School? I received a 35 percent scholarship, but I’m not sure if this means anything.
  4. Congratulations! Did she mention anything about what made your application stand out? What they're looking for?
  5. If it ends up being my only acceptance, I’ll take a visit up there. Even if only to confirm my suspicions, but who knows, I may end up pleasantly surprised!
  6. Seconded! @InfernalDesireMachines And congratulations!!!! Best of luck with the call.
  7. This may be the move for me. Either that, or somehow make one of the NYC schools work if accepted. I hope you hear good news from Rutgers soon!
  8. Yes!!! The other four schools I’m waiting on are NYC schools. I might have to do low-res next cycle because I can’t commit to certain areas.
  9. I’m waiting on four more fully funded programs: Iowa, Boston, UNCG, and Arkansas. I think Iowa is a wash and the other 3 aren’t my top choices. After my call with Minnesota State Mankato, I don’t think it’ll be a good fit. I’m really grateful for the opportunity, but I don’t want to take a spot away from someone else who really wants to go there. As a black woman I don’t want to live in a lot of these areas for an MFA unless it’s Iowa or similar. i don’t really know what I’m asking, but it’s not looking good.
  10. I think I only saw 2 acceptances for fiction in draft spreadsheet.
  11. Someone should honestly make a documentary about us lol.
  12. Similar situation to you except I just prefer to live in a bigger city. I know I would be miserable in a rural area like where I'm at now. I'm willing to make that sacrifice for somewhere like Iowa, of course. I don't know if I should move back to NYC, for an MFA or not, or take one of the less competitive offers in a town I'll hate. I'm curious to see what others will suggest!
  13. Looks like the most recent rejection wave was on the 14th. I hope this means good news for us! But yeah, their rejections are staggered.
  14. I haven't received a rejection yet. I saw a rejection with someone's last name starting with V. Mine starts with T. Holding out hope!
  15. I haven’t seen any BU acceptances for fiction. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, though!
  16. Got into Minnesota State Mankato for fiction! No word on funding yet, but I’m SO EXCITED! 1a/0w/3r/8p
  17. Ole Miss just moved someone on to round 2 AFTER that rejection email went out. Yikes!
  18. Congrats! UW-M is so lucky to have you!!! Out of curiosity: what were the english abroad programs you were looking into? This may be my fate. 😂
  19. Congratulations! Seems like an awesome program. I wish I knew about it when I was applying!!
  20. Same. I made it round 2 of Arkansas but I'm hesitant about the 4 year commitment. Waiting on Iowa and Boston, but everywhere else I'm waiting on isn't fully funded (NYC schools). I already have undergrad debt, so this is not looking good.
  21. I officially left MFA Draft. Happy for everyone but obsessively comparing myself to everyone as results pour in isn't helping my mental health. 🙃
  22. Just got my Ole Miss rejection. 🥳 I went to high school in Oxford, so it stings a little. not to diss the program or take away from anyone who made it to round 2 but what are they looking for exactly? I went to their info sesh and they just look for “quality work.” I workshopped with my prof who told me I would get in for sure. I also read alumni work which was so similar to my own work. Really frustrating when your best still isn’t enough. I’m scared Iowa and Michigan are definite long shots now. Congrats to all phase 2 contenders!
