  1. Just had my CCA interview and it was great! 100% a one on one conversation, and outwardly expressed interest in my portfolio. As I researched their program in preparation for my interview, it quickly went up in my preference list of schools. So, I would love to know what anyone has heard about their Visual Arts MFA program and how it compares to others. Also no interview invite or portal update from Rutgers or Hunter on my part so I'm assuming I was rejected. As it stands I've interviewed with CCA, VCU, RISD, and UT, interviewed and was accepted into Tyler, and interviewing next week with Cranbrook, Boston University, and SAIC. Good luck everyone and stay positive!
  2. Thank you for saying this! I didn't know if that was necessarily strange or if I was making a big deal out of it. ❤️ It's my 2nd or 3rd choice but, I will say that my interest mostly relied on them being a combined program between Painting and Printmaking but, it doesn't sound like they have any core Printmaking people and acted weird about it. So, maybe the combined nature is just a namesake.
  3. Got an interview for Cranbrook painting! And just got out of the VCU interview (Painting) and I unfortunately feel like I bombed. I got too in my head and made myself nervous, and not to say I didn't drop the ball but their interview format didn't make it any better. To be fair they did warn me that they would be making long pauses to transcribe my answers but having long awkward silences after each question does not help gain your confidence, to say the least. I think what made it worse was that they didn't respond or comment on any of my answers whereas other interviews have felt like conversation where they would naturally contribute feedback once or twice, letting you grow more comfortable after a question or two. The transcribing felt unnecessary because they were recording the interview as well! But oh well, we cannot be at the top of our game in each interview we had and unfortunately, today was my day to falter.
  4. I applied to Visual Arts
  5. I didn't get an interview for Rutgers through email and logged into my portal expecting to find the mentioned rejection notification but my application just says "under review" and to check back for a decision. Maybe I am not looking in the right place or do y'all think that maybe there will be another round of interview invites?
  6. Great! Thanks! I was freaked out for a bit.. Congratulations to you too!
  7. Received my acceptance for Tyler!!! Does anybody know if fellowship, scholarship, etc information comes out after or if I should've received it at once?
  8. Got an invite today from VCU (painting) and CCA (studio art)! Very excited about VCU!
  9. Hey everyone! I just received an email from Tyler regarding visiting and touring the school and it congratulated me on my acceptance but, I never received an acceptance email? I responded asking if an email was supposed to be sent out later today but was wondering if anyone else had this happen?
  10. Hi everyone! I've been lurking and finally decided to post. I'm a first year applicant, graduated from my BFA last May. I am applying to 10 programs in Painting/ Studio Arts. So far I've had interviews with Tyler, RISD, and UT Austin. Heard back and scheduled interviews with BU and SAIC, and haven't heard anything from VCU, Hunter, Cranbrook, CCA, and Rutgers. Thus far, my best interview has been with RISD (my top choice), we had a really good conversation and hit it off even entering casual conversation at times. My worst interview was UT, I feel like they didn't really understand me and the questions were going in circles. I've seen people start getting acceptances from Tyler, has anyone heard from Tyler painting? Best luck to everyone! And congratulations to those getting Yale interviews!
