Yes, but it's also a liability at some programs (word on the street is, for example, that NYU generally prefers that candidates not have MAs), so I really don't know that it's a good indicator of everything.

I did not have a formal interview, just an email from a faculty member to let me know they liked the app and were still finalizing things. I did not get any kind of timetable for final decisions--wish I could be of more help. I'm not sure, but I get the sense that lots of decisions are still being made, so don't expect the worst!

I just received emails from POIs at Duke this evening after an interview on the 30th. They are still making decisions, but everyone should be interviewed by Monday and decisions made by middle or end of next week.

Thanks, Rowlf. Duke is only school I've heard from out of 6, so think there's still much being decided. Nervous about the interview, but glad to get it. Keep the faith, everyone!
