  1. Ok Ok, last "where I stand" post. Sculpture student graduating from Otis college in 6 weeks. UCLA - Rejected VCU - Rejected Yale - Rejected MassArt - Accepted, no funding Cranbrook - Accepted, 18k/year funding Otis - Accepted, 27k/year funding, I may accept this offer MICA Rinehart - Accepted, 23k/year funding ArtCenter - Accepted, 15k/year initial funding but I will be negotiating when they receive my FAFSA. I will almost definitely accept this offer. If anyone has already committed to ArtCenter, I would love to chat!!! I had a really difficult time choosing between Cranbrook, MICA, ArtCenter, and Otis. I have decided to stay in Los Angeles for personal and professional reasons. I fell in love with ArtCenter upon my visit. I am eager to study under Laura Owens. I wish they could have brought MICA to LA, though! I am stoked to commit in a few days when my FAFSA is in
  2. Ok, so here's my where-I-stand post. For context, I am completing my BFA this May at Otis College of Art and Design. I majored in Sculpture but make all sorts of work. I need a substantial amount of financial aid/scholarship to be able to attend any program. UCLA-Rejected VCU Sculpture-Rejected Yale-Rejected ArtCenter-Accepted, no scholarship/funding MassArt-Accepted, no scholarship/funding Otis College of Art and Design-Accepted, 27k/year funding (so far, planning to renegotiate) MICA Rinehart-Accepted, 23k/year funding, being considered for other institutional scholarships and grants RCA-Radio silence Cornell-Applied late, no interview or emails thus faus far, r, not expecting anything but it was $10 to apply so fuck it CalArts-Applied late, no interview or e
  3. guys would it be frowned upon to call and ask when decisions will be out
  4. ok so I heard through the grapevine that ArtCenter doesn't really give anyone any money!!! I got 23k from Otis so if I want to be in LA I have an option that will be feasible. Everyone I know who has gone to ArtCenter could pay out of pocket. I am going to do some more research and call campus (dm me if you want, I'll update you) but right now it doesn't seem realistic to me.
  5. For people who also got into ArtCenter- any word on funding?
  6. Hey, I go to Otis currently and I used to go to MICA (undergrad BFA). I also got into and am considering both for my MFA, although I am leaning MICA because of its alignment with my arts practice. Feel free to PM me and we can chat about it. Otis is a great school with wonderful facilities, teachers, and students. I am truly happy I transferred here after the pandemic.
  7. I applied first round and have not heard anything yet, at least for sculpture.
  8. I feel like I am going insane waiting for letters with looming deadlines from other schools
  9. Acceptance and funding from Rinehart!!! This is what religious people must mean when they say they feel blessed!!!! Still waiting on Cranbrook and a few other places.
  10. still waiting to hear from Rinehart (sculpture) at MICA too lol I went there for undergrad!! Love the MICA community!!
  11. still waiting to hear from sculpture!! congratulations!!!
