  1. My experience was very positive. The quality of the instructors/profs were great, and I think the program provided a solid foundation for psychology practice in educational settings - especially in assessment practices. This program does meet requirements for licensing in Alberta and a number of other provinces based on the experience of several out-of-province graduates of this program (though I have heard that some provinces are moving to only allowing doctorate level graduates to register in the coming years). My impression is that psychological professionals in public education is in high demand in many provinces. Most of my cohort mates have found employment pretty quickly after graduation (or were already employed when they graduated) in public education and private practice.
  2. Sorry to hear about your result. I graduated from the MEd SACP program a few years ago and heard from faculty that there were over 100 applicants during my admission cycle and roughly 15 are accepted in the program each year. Many of my cohort mates either worked in education as teachers or special ed specialists for a number of years, or were involved in intervention or assessment with psycs or SLPs as either ABA therapists or psychometrists. Obviously I don't know what each person's academic record was when they applied, but I had a pretty average academic record. I do think that strong experience with school-aged populations in either education, assessment, or intervention is valued very highly in this program though as these were areas that I was strong in.
