i like this attitude. i start to cringe when i flesh out the details of a plan b. i'll know in 2 to 3 short months if my plan a, getting into a phd program, doesn't pan out. i'll just stay positive and focus on getting in until i have no choice but to detail my plan b.

my total is about $1300, the largest amount of money I have spent on any single endeavor (outside of purchasing a car). this total includes GRE and GRE scores, transcripts, app fees, and travel costs to attend three open houses. did other people travel to open houses?

have you tried calling their admissions office? since they extended their deadline, they must have more information for applicants. i would just give their office a call.

my username is pretty simple, its my initials and a number that i think is special. my avatar is a picture of snowmageddon 2010, the big snow storm that hit the dc region early last year. the latest snow went right around us, so i was just reminiscing.

i'll be 33. i worked a few years after undergrad, returned to school for my masters, then i worked for a few years ... i see a pattern forming...

interesting... i wonder what folks have to say about this. i've thought about contacting profs, but i decided just to be cautious and not contact them after submitting. i'm banking on any good impressions i made with them before i applied.

i'm here waiting as well, but i have one more app to submit. (five down so far). based on the gradcafe results, i think i'll start hearing from schools in about a month. on certain days i'm excited and then on other days i can't stop thinking about the stupid grammatical errors i made on my apps.
