  1. Received a rejection email from UCalgary on March 14, which means the last program I’m waiting to hear back from is UAlberta (thesis stream).
  2. also just found out i got waitlisted for the course-based UAlberta MEd program… based on the lack of communication i had really expected to receive a rejection, so this is very exciting news! unfortunately, it’s also even more stressful, now that the waiting must continue … ♥️ as ht2a said above, this process is difficult no im sending virtual hugs to you all. EDIT: correction
  3. update: got a rejection email from McMaster on Monday (Mar 3), and found out on Tuesday (Mar 4) that I’m waitlisted at ULethbridge. just waiting to hear from UofC and UofA now, although (based on the complete radio silence) I’m expecting rejections from both. feeling pretty good about it, all things considered! these programs are all extremely competitive and I’m happy I got interviews — even if I don’t make it in this year, I know I’m on the right track if I continue beefing up my applications for next time edit to add: in the February info session, McMaster let us know that they had a record-breaking 673 applicants this year and would be accepting 30.
  4. ah, that sucks :^( i’m definitely starting to feel less and less optimistic lately, but trying not to stress too much. sending hugs across the internet!
  5. I’ve had complete radio silence so far, maybe that means I’m doomed for rejection LOL. good to know!
  6. FYI, after completing my asynchronous interview for ULethbridge there was an “outro” video saying that they sent interview offers to the top 20% of applicants, and from there, the top ~10% of applicants will be accepted (cohort size of about 20). just thought that was good to know.
  7. nothing yet, but (based on previous years) it sounds like they’ll be sending out interview offers & rejections around early/mid Feb…? fingers crossed!
  8. Just got an invite for the real-deal (i.e. live, virtual) interview with McMaster!
  9. just got an interview offer from ULethbridge — not a live one, more like an assignment/timed video response. due date is January 30th.
  10. hey all, I've applied to the following programs: UAlberta, MEd Counselling Psychology (Course-based) — Dec 1, 2024 UAlberta, MEd Counselling Psychology (Thesis-based) — Dec 1, 2024 UCalgary, MSc Counselling Psychology — Nov 1, 2024 ULethbridge, MEd Counselling Psychology — Dec 1, 2024 McMaster, MSc Psychotherapy — Nov 14, 2024 I got an email back from McMaster two days ago requesting me to film/submit a 6-min video response to a couple questions (due Jan 16). if I advance in the process, the next step will be a live video interview, which will take place between the weeks of Jan 29-Feb 11. unfortunately, McMaster is my last choice since i'd rather not relocate cross-country (again) if possible ... but I hear it's an extremely competitive program and at this point I'm still just focused on getting at least one offer anywhere, haha. this thread seems pretty dead, but I'll keep updating as things go. the application process has been so stressful so far, I'd love to chat with anyone waiting to hear back from any of these programs.
