It is tonight?

I suppose I think it's tonight because of this information from the website: What are the deadlines for application to the SAIS Washington, D.C. campus? Degree:Fall 2011 Deadline:Spring 2011 Deadline:M.A.January 7No Spring term entryM.I.P.P.February 28October 15Ph.DFebruary 1No Spring term entry Should the application material be postmarked on the deadline or should it be in by the deadline? All material, including the GRE or TOEFL scores, must be received by the SAIS Office of Admissions in advance of the published, appropriate deadline. Is there a late deadline for applications? No. Completing an application by the January 7th deadline will allow for equal consideration in terms of the admissions and financial aid processes.... So clearly, the statement above refers to the hard copy material that needed to be mailed into the office. But given the emails that have gone out about getting the application in "before the deadline on January 7th", the fact that the website doesn't seem to include any information about a particular time on January 7th, and the fact that NehAgg said he called and they told him midnight (midnight January 7th is technically tonight). That makes me think I have less than three hours to submit, not the 27 hours I'd hoped. But maybe all of this is just last minute panicking? I'm so burned out with applications I don't know what to think anymore.

Oh I wish I knew. I'm trying to finish my last essay - under the assumption that it's tonight. But if someone could point to something that says tomorrow - then I'd feel much better.

Yeah, I realized after I posted. It's midnight tonight right? That's crazy. I totally thought I had another day. Every other school I've looked at has given the day the application is due with a deadline of 5pm or 11:59pm. So the application is actually due on that day... not before it! Arg. As a side note. In previous years, was the prompt for the analysis essay less about "the issue and you" and more about "the issue"? When I looked at it last year, I remember expecting to write something that was very issue focused - essentially showing them that I can write intelligently about international issues. But this year, it seems like it might be a little more of an attempt to get to know me. Any last minute thoughts?

Any idea what time tomorrow the SAIS application is due? I can't seem to find it on their website.

Good advice! I'm having a terrible time trying to hook the reader for my international econ MA program and MBA applications. When I look at some of the examples in my MBA essay books, I want to roll my eyes. I know I need something catchy and identifiable - but ohmygosh it's hard to come up with.
