I’m sure the answer is “rejected” but just putting it out there: if I did NOT get invited to interview with Bard (Painting), but I have NOT heard anything at all from them, I’m rejected—right? (it’s ok, I got in to saic and MassArt low res programs, I’m just trying to get the full picture of my options)

Im waiting to hear from saic low res post interview. Anyone else in the same boat? I’m guessing we will hear post 3/1 due to the deadline change.
-
Congratulations! Did they reach out via email? Did anyone else hear from Bard? For interviews, I had one with SAIC and one with MassArt. I would be prepared to briefly describe your practice, and discuss how you give and receive critique, with examples, emphasis on working with a diversity of backgrounds/opinions. Also, why you want this program and why now. Be a ready with your artistic influences, your reaction to a recent work of art or exhibition, and what you are reading. I'd be interested in what other forum participants think about questions to be ready for.

Hi again TO4AS, thanks for all this info. The UNR and CalArts program look very interesting, I wish I had seen them sooner. I’m hesitant to bug my recommenders again to send more recs, and frankly the thought of composing more applications has me pretty exhausted, so I’m on hold for now. I spoke to SVA today and they told me that the SVA Visual Storytelling MFA is still open, and it is a Low Residency program. My work has a storytelling text component so I’m intrigued and I asked them to transfer my application to that department. I wanted to give you the heads up that it is a Low Res program just in case you want to transfer your SVA Art Practice app there.

Thanks for the Bard info. More waiting…

Has anyone heard from Bard?
-
Hi TO4AS: I just read that email too. I'm disappointed. I'm really interested in a "Low Residency" program where I can immerse myself on campus (in the studio, in critiques, in lectures, with a cohort) for 6-8 weeks a year and then I can be a zoom student with a job and a studio practice for the rest of the year. Is that what you are applying to also? In addition to SVA Art Practice, I applied to SAIC Low Res, Bard, and MassArt. Can you suggest any other programs I should look into?

Has anyone heard from SVA Art Practice to schedule an interview?

Revised: I just got an email from SAIC Low Res too! I hope we both get in! I scheduled my interview for 2/14.

Hi TO4AS, Congrats on the SAIC Low Res Interview. I hope you don't mind my asking a couple follow ups...Did they email you or update the portal with the interview info? Also, what were the days open for scheduling? Good luck with everything!
-
Also, I’m prepping for a MassArt Low Res interview. Any ideas for questions to be thinking about?
-
Is anyone applying to SAIC Low Res Program? If yes, have you heard about an interview yet? I’m also wondering if anyone is applying to SVA Art Practice (mostly remote) and if you have heard anything from them? What about Bard (I think they don’t let us know about interviews until mid Feb, right?)? The waiting is the hardest part (I’m singing this like Tom Petty).
