  1. Sigh. Thank you for the info!
  2. my ualabama portal was updated!! "awaiting final review." hoping that means we get decisions this week!
  3. I see a few fiction acceptances from early March. Sorry
  4. I'm 22, and it's really inspiring to see all of you who are older than me continuing to go for it. I have gotten all rejections so far (1 pending, but they already sent out waitlists so I'm not hopeful) but I'm really excited to apply again next year. I didn't even consider reapplying to be a possibility until I joined this forum and the Facebook group! Y'all are amazing, and I'm so grateful to be a part of this community.
  5. Iowa and UW Seattle rejections came literally 20 minutes apart And no "we liked your work" note from Iowa, just "we can only admit a small portion of applicants" basically
  6. Yes it's looking like I'll get all rejections as well so I'll see you here again next year! I'm excited to reapply, honestly. I'll have a lot more time to consider what places I think I'd truly be happy, and I'm excited to read more work from potential faculty I'll work with. Something that is really helping to motivate me is having a project -- I'm working on a poetry chapbook right now, and it's been really motivating me to write! I think it's important to have something tangible to work towards. I've also challenged myself to get 100 rejections from magazines and I applied to a few residencies and workshops!
  7. Any thoughts about Alabama? It looks like historically they've sent out decisions in mid to late February, but my application is still "under departmental review." I applied in poetry. I see one CNF acceptance, a couple fiction waitlists and a single poetry waitlist on the sheet. Can't wait for this all to be over. I'm mostly accepting getting rejected everywhere and getting excited about the programs I'm going to apply to next cycle, a lot of which I didn't consider at all for this cycle.
  8. I think that your references are probably a lot less bothered than you might think! One of my references has already offered to send letters again after I told them I plan to reapply if I don't get accepted this cycle. Writing letters is part of their job, so I would try to not feel to bad about asking, and like someone else said, it's easier for them the second time around.
  9. That makes a lot of sense, actually. Still exhausting to be on our side of it, but better to know the reason to it. Thanks for your insight
  10. I don't know, and I think it is literally going to drive me insane. Especially if they're going to just send emails to everyone like it seems University of Alabama does, why isn't it automated and sent at once? I felt really hopeful about applications in December, but now that decisions are rolling out I'm realizing just how slim the odds are.
  11. Congratulations!! Fingers crossed you make it up the waitlist quickly.
