Okay an update! Tulane, Photo - Accepted! Full Tuition, w/ Funding Stipend and Insurance covered, the first year's stipend being $28000 if I TA/teach a class over the summer for four weeks and apply for a summer grant to work on my thesis show. SAIC, FVNMA - Accepted, No Funding, will be releasing this spot so someone on the waitlist can get in CalArts - Accepted, (on my birthday too, that was a nice gift!) no funding however, but that is pretty typical from my experience of CalArts, and will be releasing my spot soon as well HDK-Valand - Still awaiting on a response, in addition I applied to the Axel Adler Scholarship which would provide Full Tuition Coverage SAIC, Photo - No response yet (assuming that this is just a rejection?) Oxford - Rejection (this one was interesting because I was waitlisted last year.) RISD - Rejection (also waitlisted last year) Yale - Rejection The Royal Academy - Rejection UCLA, Photo - Rejection UCLA, New Genres - Rejection So far, it seems like Tulane will be my pick. The faculty, facilities, and the fact that I get to start teaching, which is my dream to do, is exactly what I want and I love everything about it. However as a trans woman, it's a bit stressful being in such a red state, especially with what has happened recently in Kansas to strip ID from trans folk. I plan on visiting New Orleans soon to get a vibe on the place and see the queer and trans community there so I can chill out a bit. Especially because I have been told over and over by folks that it's a great place to be queer in. However if I am able to receive the Adler scholarship, that will really throw things up in the air because Sweden, well it's Sweden. I also am participating in my first art fair there, I have connections to galleries, curator, and several residencies there as well.

I only found out because of this forum, crazy they didn't send out an email regarding the update, but also I got a rejection from the Photo and New Genres program.

Thank you!! So the first round of interviews were in the week of the 6th of February, the second round and final round of interviews were on the 20th. At the second round they told me they were only talking to three people including myself to see how it we do conversationally talking about our work, and debating opening up a second slot for the photo program instead of just the one. Which specific program under studio art did you apply to?

I just got accepted into Tulane's MFA Studio Art program with the focus on photography!!! They also guaranteed full tuition is covered+stipend and free health insurance which makes me ecstatic. In addition to that I had my interview with HDK Valand this morning, and it felt very rushed on my end, but it was also 4:30 in the morning so I am not that stressed about it. Tomorrow I have my interview with CalArts tomorrow which honestly I think will be a fun time, but its nice to have an acceptance from one of, if not my top school. I am pretty sure Tulane is where I will be going unless the Adler scholarship (full ride) for Valand goes to me. I am still looking forward to hearing back from SAIC and their funding offer for FNVMA as well as UCLA, but I do not have high hopes that it can compete with Tulane.

So glad I found this forum, hope everyone isn't stressing too much w/ waiting These are the places I have applied and their responses so far HDK-Valand - Upcoming interview on the 24th The Royal Academy - Rejection SAIC, FVNMA - Interviewed on 2/7 SAIC, Photo - No response yet UCLA, Photo - No response yet UCLA, New Genres - No response yet Tulane, Photo - First Round interview Feb 6th, upcoming second round interview on the 20th Oxford - No response yet RISD - No response yet Yale - Rejection CalArts - Upcoming interview on the 26th. Last year I applied to Oxford and RISD and got waitlisted for both but sadly never made it off of the wait list, in addition to that I applied to Slade, UCLA (both new genres and photography) and got rejected from both. Has anyone heard back yet from Oxford or UCLA?
