  1. So this morning I wake up and to an email from USC with the subject: "A Rewarding Opportunity from Dean Yortsos of USC Engineering" It takes me about 30 secs to calm my fast beating heart down first, before I start reading. Turns out this was just a generic email sent to all applicants about financial aid And here I thought I was finally gonna get to read my first acceptance email This shit is driving me crazy.
  2. Oh crap I've been pestering USC with 3 emails by now, and they haven't gotten back to me yet on any of them. Aaaargh
  3. USC, UC Irvine, UC Davis, and NYU. Masters as well Good luck!
  4. [rant]Would have loved to apply to UBC, but they require MS applicants from the Philippines to already have an MS degree [/rant]
  5. Amen. Especially here in a third world country where getting mail to arrive at a prompt date is a worse gamble than playing blackjack.
  6. Only way I've been surviving this waiting part is with copius amounts of Scotch whisky every night. Sigh.

    Anxiety!

Cripes. Applied to 4 schools and haven't heard anything from any yet My performance at work has worsened considerably as I can't concentrate on anything anymore. If I don't get in anywhere I'll probably be fired anyway for a poor rating
  8. Husky, yup. A very generous relative is bribing me to go back to school by offering to pay for my tuition and living expenses for the 2 years. I'm also hoping that maybe that'll make my chances better since the schools won't have to fund me. Am I crazy or is there some truth to that?
  9. Any Trojans in this board? I got an email this morning from USC inviting me to attend their Graduate Preview, kinda like an Open House/Tour I guess. Anyway, I have 2 questions: 1. Is this a good sign regarding my application? Do they do this only for candidates they like or is this for everyone that submits an application? (The waiting part is frigging killing me) 2. It says on the website that applicants "Are Strongly Encouraged to Attend." If I don't go, will it hurt my chances? I'm an international applicant from the Philippines so it's not like a trip to LA is something that can simply be done over the weekend.
  10. International CS applicant right here, but only for an MS degree. Applying to USC, UC Davis, UC Irvine, and NYU. How about you?
