I'm not sure if it's better to hold out for more funding from a school that I've already been accepted to (waitlisted for first-year funding) or to go ahead and tell them yes. Opinions? I don't want to miss out on a chance for more funding by saying yes too "soon" (soon in quotes 'cause it's April 14).
This is a question for the UW-admittees: For those of you without in-state status who are thinking about going, do you have any tricks for funding the first year?
I emailed the DGS today, and he told me that I was rejected. Sad, but not unexpected.
However, my ApplyYourself status still doesn't have the "reject" letter posted (he said it was updated on Friday), so it might be useful to email if you really need to know.
I'm in the same boat and emailed the DGS today...I hate to be a pest, but I want to know for sure that I'm a reject before making a decision about my other acceptances.
This morning I declined an unfunded offer from UN-Reno (MA: Literature and the Environment.) Not sure if this helps anyone, but I thought I'd post it anyway!
Yeah, I emailed today, and that's how I found out the above info. Both were really nice and sincere. Prof. Reed was really honest about the funding situation, which sounds gloomy to say the least, but at least I know now!
