  1. Thanks guys! Best of luck to everyone and congrats to those of you who have gotten in someplace! It seems that for the past few years, just getting in someplace--anyplace--is the hard part, let alone getting in to one of your top choices.
  2. I signed my acceptance form today! I'm off to Harvard in 4 months.
  3. A friend of mine was accepted at Duke, but will not be going there. I don't know for sure whether she has told them that yet though.
  4. I was wrong, Columbia is interviewing this year. Their interview is all day on March 25th and then there is a dinner on March 26th.
  5. Columbia is most likely not interviewing this year. And I believe they have made their decisions, but have not sent them out yet.
  6. They already conducted interviews and will notify those that interviewed by the end of next week. If you didn't interview, then you may not hear until mid-March. (I talked to someone on the phone about it on Thursday.)
  7. Sociology is vastly less competitive, particularly if you have research experience. So, you may want to ask yourself, is it better to be at a top soc program or a less prestigious psych program?
  8. Wharton has sent out interviews, though they were via skype. I did not get an interview and I was just rejected this afternoon. No surprise, given that I didn't get an interview.
  9. Congratulations!! Now any other offers you get are just gravy!
  10. It sounds like it went well then--that's awesome! And if his grad students said it wouldn't be a problem then I'm sure it will be fine. Have you met him before? I have interacted with a handful of profs at Harvard, so if you PM me his name, then I could give you my impression if I have met him (though that opinion would be based on only a brief conversation so take it with a grain of salt).
  11. How did your interview go?! That's super exciting to have an interview at Harvard, but honestly, I find it incredibly odd that your interview was with a grad student --don't you? Personally, it would make me wonder how involved that professor would be as an advisor if he doesn't even conduct his own grad school interviews. Feel free to PM me in response if you would prefer.
  12. I completely agree with this. Particularly in Management/OB programs (as opposed to finance, etc.), they are much more interested in your research experience than your GRE or GMAT score.
  13. As of last week, Columbia was just starting to set up meetings to start going though applications. I also think nothing has come out of Stanford yet, so I wouldn't worry about that either. I don't think you have to start thinking about finding another job until the end of the month. Do you mind sharing who your POIs are at Columbia? Feel free to PM me if you are more comfortable with that. Best of luck!!!
  14. Just FYI for everyone -- Columbia does interview though they haven't even begun to look at applications.
  15. I'm not sure about Stanford, but I can find out about Columbia today. Do you mind if I ask who you applied to work with at Columbia? Feel free to PM me if you'd like.
  16. Just FYI -- Stern doesn't interview, you just get accepted outright. I didn't hear from them yet, I'm just trying to organize some travel plans for something non-related in March and I wanted to make sure it wouldn't conflict with a potential interview date, so I contacted them and they said they don't interview.
  17. Congratulations on your interview at Michigan! My Harvard interview isn't until next week, so we'll see how it goes...
  18. Ok, so three things: 1) Apparently Virginia interviews in waves. There is often a first interview date and a second. Why that is or what the difference is between the two sets, I have no idea. 2) Someone asked about Columbia and Harvard, and I know Harvard's interview is next week, but Columbia's isn't until the end of February. Both have sent out interview offers, but since Columbia's is so far away, it is still conceivable that you could get an interview offer. 3) Did anyone see that post last night on the results page from someone in clinical who said that he wanted to check if the information being posted was correct, so he contacted the schools he applied to, and about 50% of what had been posted was a flat out lie?! Why on earth would anyone do that? To all those people posting fake information, get a life!
  19. I do find it odd what has come out about Virginia on here. There has been a wave of waitlists and a wave of rejections, but others haven't heard anything. And there has been one person who said the received an interview invite, but he/she wouldn't respond to me asking about it. I also called the admin assistant for the social program on Thursday and she said that they were still in the process of sending out invites. So who knows what their timeline is really.
  20. Actually it is real, and Berkeley's stipend is comparable to most top programs.
  21. I received an interview invite from Harvard's joint psych/OB program, but other than that, no. Best of luck!!!
