Hi my precious lovely supportive friends (dlb89 and distant wizard in particular) I was out smoking and drinking with my best friend and now I'm back lurking in my emails and this amazing forum. I'd die if you were not out there. Fingers crossed I'd get in ANYWHERE. I wish there would be at least one who were admitted by both Columbia and Princeton. I wish I wouldn't be No. 7 at Yale or NYU too. Even if I'd end up No. 7, they took up at least 7, (LOL) Please tell me if there might be anyone out there with offers from Princeton or Columbia who may want to decline their offer? To those who're waiting for Columbia's call: they've made all the decisions. 6 admits and 2 waitlists. I don't know if bio/evo/physical are included or what. Yet, I got the impression either they have been notified or they're being notified very soon. Also for those applying next year to Columbia. They're apparently going to take up more admits with better fundings,

I've been waitlisted again. it was not an interview. they took up 6 and made 2 wait list offers. i'm at the top of the wait list again. he also encouraged me to apply next year because they're gonna have better fundings and expand their cohort, cheers P.S. Yeah actually I think I totally agree with you. I think that goes quite similar to my experience with NYU. They just requested interview because I'm an international student. Goodness knows what would happen.

The fellow contacted them and learned that they'd admitted ony 2 sociocultural, then they ended up inferring rejection. That is the story. I personally feel I'm also rejected!

Hey friend, I just heard from Columbia but I have no idea what it means. I'm so thrilled but quite nervous too. "The faculty of the Department of Anthropology are very impressed with your application. I am writing in the hope that I can talk to you tomorrow, Monday, by telephone" Please help me analyze this. Is it a sort of interview again? I'm getting tired of interviews without no definite reply. They usually ask for skype, ooVoo or something for interview. Anyone else heard anything from Columbia yet? P.S. Congrats on the UCLA admission. It's indeed an amazing department! Lucky you!

Hi Irishscientist, I hate to be the bearer of the bad news. Yet, I guess we'd better face the truth. I spoke with a Harvard's admit and they got the impression that all admits had been communicated by the department already. We have the same status by now. You're not at all alone and I do sympathize with you. We both have a wait list plus interviews. Fingers crossed we could get in one at least. Did you find out where you stand in Chicago's waiting list? Any news from your UCB/UCSF? I told you from the very beginning, you'd get in both UCB/UCSF and MIT. Wake up everyone, The Resurrection Day's coming! I heard from a friend that Harvard's done with punishments! 6 out of 220 has been admitted. I hate this No. 6. I ended up 7 at Princeton and I'm sure the best I can get is another waitlist from NYU or Yale, nothing more! Any words from JHU, Columbia or CUNY? UPenn notifies at all? Do they take only 1 sociocultural? I have a confession to make: I made a mistake applying to UPenn. I should have applied to UNC,CH and Duke....

How on earth can they mail my decision to Iran? It'll take ages and I'm telling you, it would be delivered on April, 15 at earliest.

That's quite fair! Do you mean by "either" NYU and Princeton? coz I've not applied to Duke at all. I assume you'd get in NYU too, I bet you're a top candidate for you got in Princeton straight away! Actually NYU stands before Princeton for me, so you'd get in Princeton and if I'm wait listed by NYU, I may get in there, WOW! Heaven forbid I'd be rejected by NYU straight away,

Thanks everyone for the supportive comments. I love you all, In response to my Princeton's enquiry, I found out that they admitted 6 in a fierce competition. They used to admit 8 until a couple of years ago and I would have MOST DEFINITELY been accepted straight away if they allowed to admit 8. They proceeded to encouraging me to be patient since I am at the top of the wait list, Ugh! I hope I wouldn't experience the same pain with NYU or Yale!

Did you post your result twice? I saw two acceptances in the results page. I don't mean to be nosy my friend but could you please tell me your top three choices in the order and where are you waiting for? I gather you've not received any other acceptances yet, other than Princeton, right? My apologies in advance if I may be appearing too pushy, I'm so nervous since I don't have any definite acceptance yet, P.S. I personally asked my NYU interviewer if they'd admit without interviews and the answer was YES. That is a reliable info. My NYU friend also confirmed this! So sit tight until tonight!
