  1. Just got my letter from UMD today! Got admitted with an assistanceship for both years as long as I maintain good academics. Essentially I get tuition remission (not full) but what is left over gets covered by a stipend. I also get medical benefits. I'm excited! I'm still waiting on funding from GWU. But, I hope this is a good sign!
  2. Very cool. I work at a medium-sized private research university. About 6,000 undergrads and 6,000 grads. It's intense working on admissions while also being nervous about my own admission! Lots of relating to the applicants going on this year...
  3. What is being said there? I've never heard of that site.
  4. "Other." I've worked in higher education administration for the past three years.
  5. Me too! I'm most interested in education, public health (especially stem cell policy and HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention), and human/equal rights (like gay rights, equal pay for women, equal access to health care).
  6. I'm really excited about the move, too! I grew up in one place, moved for college and stayed after. So, this is only my second move ever!
  7. Let's hope not... I submitted mine on February 1... lol.
  8. Hey techie. I applied to the MSPPM at CMU. I decided to apply to the split track between Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. because my career ambitions are to work on federal policy issues. The apprenticeship was attractive to me for networking options and getting practical experience in D.C. I did call CMU, and they told me that since there is a limited number of spots in the D.C. track that I would also be considered for the traditional two year program in Pittsburgh if the D.C. program filled up.
  9. Thanks for the information, Cloudless! I am coming up for the admitted students day on the 28th. Definitely looking forward to it.
  10. It's great to hear from a current Taubman student! I've loved everything I've read about the program - especially the small class size. I'm coming to visit at the end of the month and am looking forward to learning more. How is the interaction with the faculty? Do you have a lot of chance to do research? Also, what is your sense of career opportunities and being able to pursue internships? Thanks for your thoughts!
  11. Thanks! ... It took me way too long to figure out where the results page was. Don't know this website too well.
  12. I'd love to know more about the Brown MPP as well. I was just admitted today, and all I know is what I've researched on the website. It's fairly new, so there doesn't seem to be that much information out there.
  13. I can relate - I also was a bit intimidated. I just started reading this page. I hesitated to even put up my stats. My friend is applying to PhD programs and showed me the page. So, I checked it out to see what people were writing about MPP's.
  14. I just discovered this website. I've been driving myself nuts during the application process for these programs. It's neat to see so many other people interested (although I must admit that it's a bit intimidating seeing some of your stats!). I'm looking at many of the same schools as you all, but I'm refraining from visiting until I know the results. I applied to Brown, KSG, NYU, WWS, Maryland, AU, GW, GPPI, GMU, Duke, CMU, LSE, and JHU. I'm worried about my quant score because its a bit lower than all my practices were. Must've made some mistakes. I tool Calc III, Stats, and two econ courses in college with all A's. Do you know if they value your transcript more than the GRE score? I'll be patiently waiting just like everyone else!
