  1. This is what I received from UMASS Amherst: "We are in the first stages of prcessing our applications to our graduate program. We have about 180 applications to process, and some early decisions have been made. We are however still assessing our applications. We appreciate your patience."
  2. Has anyone heard from Cornell MS, UMass Amherst MA, UCSB PhD or UIL PhD (Urbana/Champaign)?
  3. Sleepingkitty; i am so with you on that. I haven't had any response and should have feedback this week (hopefully). Their silence makes me think that I am already rejected. I hope they advise the rejections right away, so we can decide what to do with ourlives. I heard some schools don't even notify applicants of their rejections. That is just wrong. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  4. Why Tuesday? I am waiting
  5. I saw on the survey forum that one got accepted to UMASS Amherst. I haven't received a reply and with the pessimism in me, i am taking it as a rejection. Starting Monday, I should hear from all 5. VERY VERY VERY NERVOUS and lost hope
  6. I am sorry that you feel that way. May be you should have kept it to yourself, to keep the peace in the forum
  7. Anyone heard from U IL, Urbana Champaign (ICR PhD), Pittsburgh (PhD), Amherst or Cornell (M.S.)? I already got a rejection from UCSD. I heard UCSB will start announcing sometime after next week but I am not optimistic after UCSD VERY NERVOUS
  8. I only heard back from UCSD back in January, which was a rejection. With CA budget issues, not a suprise but depressed the hell out of me. I am still waiting to hear from the other 5. Cornell MS results will be announced next week. Pittsburgh second week of March (i think), Urbana-Champaign will announce starting March 1st. I am not sure about Amherst or UCSB. I am very anxious. Very nervous. All I need is ONE acceptance.
  9. You are not alone! Waiting does suck and I am aging I applied to 6, so far received a rejection from UCSD PhD, and anxiously waiting on the other 5 schools. I spoke with one of the schools this morning and the Grad Asst told me that I was at the applicants pool. Does everyone make it to the applicants pool? Good luck
  10. Question: Do you feel like no news is bad news?
  11. No, and I have never waited for March to come with such desire. Since I received one decision, from UCSD (a rejection ), I have been very pessimistic. I am waiting from other 5. I am suprised to see all the admission results, considering today is the Presidents Day. Good Luck. I hope to hear your good news soon. And I hope to announce my good news soon
  12. I am still waiting... Very nervous
  13. Very well said. I am too having "serious" difficulty with this waiting period. I heard from one school and it is a rejection. Thanks to this site, I can share my anxiety. Good Luck
  14. this waiting period is making me very nervous. I feel like this time "no news" is "bad" news. It seems like the acceptances are announced right away. I am aging!
  15. Anyone has received further information? I am still waiting from other 5 schools

  17. Any applications to PhD in Comm at UIL Urbana, Pittsburgh, Amherst or UCSB?
  18. Samoth I am happy for you. Acceptance to Penn is great news
  19. Wow. 350 Applications! That is a lot. Where did you apply?
  20. Nope, not yet. I am still waiting on Cornell MS and the remaining 4. I am extremely pessimistic, especially after the UCSD news. Also the economic crisis are resulting in diminished funds for Universities

  22. I wonder if I am the only one who is anxious of waiting?
