  1. This is a request to all participants CURRENTLY (or previously) enrolled in Ed. programs, particularly at schools that seem to be very popular on this forum (Harvard, TC, UPenn, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Brown, UCLA, Berkeley, etc.): Could you please post and give us some insight into how you made your decision? It seems many of us have tough decisions to make in the coming weeks, and it would be great to hear from folks who have been through this process before. I am particularly interested in what you see as major differences between the programs and their "philosophies" in your field(s) and, if you are a master's student, if you feel the school values your work and presence (or if they really only care about PhD students). I open this up to people from all schools and concentrations. Please help!
  2. From what I understand, a 1/3 offer for an MA program is quite generous. I also received funding from Stanford, but not quite 1/3 of my tuition and am hoping for more generous offers from some of the other institutions that have offered me admission. I am wondering if there is any tradition of "negotiating" fellowship money. Does anyone know? Is it inappropriate to tell a school you'd like to select their program, but another is offering you more money? This kind of bargaining absolutely goes on at undergraduate institutions, but I am not sure if it's accepted in the grad school world, at the master's level. Any thoughts?
  3. Someone posted an HGSE Master's Interview on the Results Page. I wasn't aware Harvard interviewed Master's applicants. Is this another "fake" post? If you are the poster and the post is indeed factual, to which program have you applied?
  4. I ended up calling to investigate. Turns out they had sent everyone's interview date out earlier in the week, but somehow missed me. Good thing I called. Now I have the date and am all set.
  5. I applied to the UW Master's in Ed Policy program and am waiting to hear about my interview date. From what I understand all applicants are interviewed, but I have not heard anything yet despite the stated January 19th notification date. Has anyone else heard any news? Best of luck to all with apps!
