  1. Did anyone apply to this school? It will shut down this June. http://www.coloradodaily.com/news/ci_17845940#axzz1JbsmaKJp
  2. I turned down my UNC offer last week. Hope it helped to get someone off the waitlist. Good luck!
  3. I know it's probably too early to talk about transferring to another PhD program right now, since many of us have not yet decided where to go. But, this might help you in the decision making process too. My advisor keeps telling me that if I decided to go to a not as good program as I expected, I should think about transferring to another school after my first year. But I feel like you plan to betray people, because the program funds you, but after 1 year you move on to another one. What do you guys think about this?
  4. UNC is sending out admission results through email....
  5. UNC decisions for comm studies have probably been rolled out, I believe that mass comm people would have to wait longer. I heard they have not yet voted for admission
  6. I got accepted to Wisconsin. However, when I applied I did not know that the don't usually offer funding to first year PhD students. Or maybe they do, but I did not get it. So no funding... This is the email from them. " We are pleased to inform you that the School of Journalism and Mass Communication has recommended your admission to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School. Final authority for admission decisions rests with the Graduate School, but we expect you will receive formal notification of your admission within a month. If you do not receive confirmation of your admission status by mid-April please contact us. Please continue to check your online application account for any additional materials that may be required by the Graduate School to finalize your admission. We were not able to offer you financial support for the 2011-12 academic year. School and university resources are extremely limited and we were able to fund only a small number of students. Competition for available money is fierce and support was given primarily to students currently enrolled in the program. You should not interpret our inability to provide you with support for the coming year as a reflection on your qualifications or potential for graduate study."
  7. Ha, I was like you too. I decided to apply to PhD in early October. In the beginning I thought I'd apply to 9 programs. I made it to 6, but thought "no, I am not going to apply to the 7th." Just too much... So, I stopped..
  8. Another quiet Sunday. Hope we will be getting good news this week.
  9. Thanks man! Hope we;re all going to hear good news
  10. I know that university of kansas deadline is April 1st. But that's the deadline for applicants who do not seek funding. Well, who don't seek funding to do PhD?
  11. Thanks, tvphd and Gooner. they were fast. I just sent them an additional document last week. ANW I am thrilled.
  12. Hey, I got accepted to Ohio, journalism school. With full funding for three years. Nice
