I got my rejection the end of last week, albeit a baffling one. Apparently, my master's degree and perfect research match with more than one prof, do not fulfill the top two qualifications they look for: "potential for success in program & cognitive science, and degree of match b/t faculty and applicant's research interests." uuhhhh.... yeah, ok. their loss.

every school is taking many fewer students because of the economy. find gwbush, and release your angst however you see fit. you'll probably find him having a good 'ol time in Crawford TX and being ignorantly oblivious.

anyone hear from psych programs at WashU, Duke, or Columbia?

mid-afternoon on a Sunday I got an acceptance phone call then email (same program). got email about setting up phone interview on a Sunday ~7pm.

for the ApplyYourself websites, the decision link will appear on the main page (the first page when you sign in) below the info re: your recommenders. you can't miss it. however, it all depends on whether or not the school you applied to uses that website function. I know for a fact that Duke does use it b/c I applied there 2yrs ago (got an email that directed me there). Boulder however, never had a link appear for my application. from what I've gathered from Columbia's graduate site, they don't use it. so it depends on the school, and I guess you'd have to find out from the program's website or ask them directly whether they use it.

Ah, crap. How long ago did you hear from Columbia? Care to share who you're looking to work with?

I think I'm pretty much ruling out the possibility of getting a phone call from NYU C&P. It was really questionable as to whether either of the POIs were going to be taking students but worth the shot.
