Nope. MIT is strong in qualitative methods and they aren't particularly amazing in quantitative methods and formal theory.

I went to a 4th-tier undergrad and got into a top 30 program and waitlisted at one right around 20, so I guess that I moved up quite a bit.

That is somewhat odd to send out them out individually. I wonder if the DGS doesn't yet know about BCC.

Has anyone heard anything about Berkeley cutting cohort size because of California's state budget problems? Last year 13 people posted acceptances and only 7 have this year . I'm guessing that a higher percentage of applicants find out about this website each year, so either they are taking a smaller cohort or they aren't done admitting.

Sorry, but Chicago already waitlisted people, so they are probably done admitting people to the PhD program. Chicago also admits a ton of people to their different cash cow MA programs, so if they are being evasive about admissions, this is probably why.

Don't worry about yale or princeton yet. Someone was clearly messing with the results. I'm fairly certain that nobody has claimed the cornell, penn, brown, yale, or princeton acceptances (unless I missed it)...so I assume that these schools have yet to notify.
