  1. Don't know, but I would guess email. In terms of stream, this is from the department that houses both streams, I can never remember the name.
  2. the top ranked candidates have been notified. Everyone else is just waiting around.
  3. sounds about right..in any case, decisions will be out in a week.
  4. Yeah seriously, although waiting still sucks. I applied for the PhD in behavioural sciences, or whatever its called.
  5. seems healthy to me to discredit an entire city for no apparent reason
  6. Don't fret, apparently the social and behavioural sciences is the only department not to have finished their acceptances (Health Promotion Masters comes under that department I think). I
  7. Yes! Called the department a few days ago, and told that only rejection letters have been sent, so sometimes it works in reverse.
  8. If you want higher grades go to the easier school, if you want well known school go to the more prestigious school. I think it's obvious which one is which. Big city vs university town. Both have their benefits. If you plan on doing a PhD or med school after you probably want higher grades. I don't know which one is "better" but whatever choice you make it will be the right one. Good luck.
  9. Called U of T Dalla Lana today, they have sent out all the rejection letters. If you don't get one it means you are likely on a waiting list or a list of people they don't want to reject just yet, as acceptances have also been sent out. So more waiting around just to be rejected at a later time. Good luck everyone.
  10. you should definitely tell them about external funding, speaking to someone who sits on a graduate enterance committee, I was told that most profs would at least look at your proposal/application package again if you had external funding - seriously, no harm! go for it!
  11. U of T is crazy as heck, my partner was outright rejected from U of T and two months later received a fully-funded spot. That is so unbelievably lame. Anyway, he was already accepted to another school, but it kind of shows you the level of disorganization at the school. However, saying that, I did apply and waiting to hear back!
  12. So acceptances went out for my top program two weeks ago; just saw someone get rejected on the board. Gearing up for the rejection email now. I just don't understand why the school tells you it's still under review when clearly my application package is being used as a makeshift coffee cup holder, with my name and credentials smeared out by coffee stains. Oh joy. Sorry to be a downer, but I've had enough of this. Too bad I also applied for a Canadian University, the torture won't end until June 1st.
  13. If this were only true...just saw the results board, other people have contacted one of the programs, all acceptances sent out already, unofficial rejection. Ah. At least I will know for next year, it's tough! didn't realize this would be such a process.
  14. The Harvard Society, Human Development and Health program accepted someone last Friday, according to the results board, and by looking at the other Harvard Public Health programs, if you don't get an email the first time around, you're likely going to be rejected the following week. I've noticed that's the case with most programs actually, so, in the case of PhD applications, probably not good to hold onto any hopefully feelings once you see an acceptance, at least in Public Health! Best of luck to everyone.
