2011 MSW Hopeful

I was so discouraged yesterday after getting a letter from Temple saying that I didn't meet their Graduate School's admissions standards (perplexingly, since I was definitely above their 3.0 undergrad GPA minimum), but today I received acceptances from UPenn (interviewed 2/21) and Boston University. I'm nervous about the financial end of things, but SO psyched to have gotten into two great programs.

Last application (Bryn Mawr) submitted today! That makes nine... NYU, Hunter, Boston University, UChicago, UPenn, Temple, VCU, George Mason, and Bryn Mawr. I haven't heard anything, but I just submitted for NYU and Hunter this weekend, so I'm not expecting to hear anything for a while on those two. I'd love to have submitted early, but some of my LOR writers were pretty last-minute. Congrats to people who are already hearing back!

My interview isn't until later this month. GPA: 3.3 (very poor final two semesters due to some personal issues); GRE 650V, 550Q, 4.5A, 750 Psychology; 3 years of full-time human services experience (child/adolescent mental health) and a few other field experiences. I don't have much idea of what my chances are, to be honest. It's my top choice, but I think attending would only be feasible for me with considerable funding.

I submitted my application on 1/22. I got an email about scheduling an interview on 2/1. There wasn't a confirmation of receipt of materials, but since the admissions interview is standard, I assume that serves as the confirmation. Pretty fast turnaround time, actually!

I'd like to echo these questions, since I have an interview coming up. Sorry I can't be of help yet, chriskyk.

I submitted my online application to VCU today and the supplemental materials last week! It's not my top choice because I'm really looking for a city with reliable public transportation, but it has a great rep and I'm in-state, so that part's appealing. Finishing touches on NYU and Hunter College applications tonight. I applied to 9 schools, so it's been a lot of time and money! So nervous/excited to hear back.
