  1. I was accepted to the UF MA program and spoke with Dr. Wegner. Apparently 10 were accepted for 7 spots. Also, the waitlist is not really ranked. Rather, it is organized by speciality in order to yield a group of students with diverse interests. Hope that helps!
  2. bahhh i've heard nothing, yet there seems to be a number of people who have received both acceptances and rejections from UW's MA program. In the words of the double rainbow man, "what does this mean?!"
  3. I am, and I am trying to have some hope. What do you guys think is going on?
  4. I applied to the MA at Washington and the MA at UF (I saw that you made a lot of comments on the UF thread). Looks like we're both in the same boat. I would be ecstatic if I got into UW's MA program. I went to UF for undergrad, and so I am hoping to be able to get out of Gainesville (it's a great town, but i've been here for about five years and need a change of scenery). Also, I saw that someone posted a rejection from UW's MA program. Wondering if I'll be hearing some news from them this week.
  5. I called just because I was really worried about it. It seemed that they automatically placed me in the master's application pool as soon as I applied, but if you are really worried about it there's no harm in shooting her an email. She is really nice.
  6. I actually just spoke with Kathy to make sure I was being considered for a masters and not a ph.d. (I only have a bachelors degree and i, too, made the mistake of applying for the ph.d.). Kathy said that masters degree applicants should expect to hear back in two weeks. I am not sure about Ph.D. applicants. ugh. TWO. MORE. WEEKS. can i take it? guess I have to.
  7. lyonessrampant, where did you get this information from?
  8. this morning I woke up feeling pretty tight in the chest, and i stared at my email hoping that some good news would pop up on my computer screen. I also fantasized about various scenarios, including receiving all rejections from the phd english programs I applied to, as well as receiving acceptances from my "dream" schools. I remembered watching this youtube video a while back, and I thought it'd be a good time to re-watch it because it always helps me put things in perspective. do yourself a favor and watch it too. good luck to all of you.
  9. thanks crae and intextrovert for your comments. they made me feel a little better! I am hoping I still have a chance with Pittsburgh. They have an amazing children's literature program (the best in the country) and that's what I am hoping to specialize in. Congrats crae on your acceptances to both UC Davis and Pittsburgh! Let's hope that we all hear some good news soon!
  10. if I have not heard anything from pitt yet should I be assuming it's a rejection?
