I have applied in the CMU ACO program (through the Math department) . I haven't heard from them though. There is one admit on the results page ( dated Feb 26th I guess). Is there anyone who is still waiting to hear from them? Thanks and regards

The title says it all. My status on the website still reads "No Decision". My friend in the US called them up to inquire about the admission decisions and the lady said " first round offers have been made" . Does it mean I'm on a waitlist ? Is anyone else in the same boat ? Thanks

Last night, I received this too (for the ACO program) Oh well.. I was pretty well prepared though.

I think I'll also give a piece of my mind here. I have a friend who is a PhD candidate at UIUC. He also works in the field of distributed system. And he considers the work being done there just "awesome". Though I don't really have a first hand idea of Gatech, I would surely bet it's damn good. Just my two cents.

I'll most probably join UBC for my M.Sc next fall. I'm an Indian national, and finding room mates over the web is slightly scary . Now I'm getting around $15K as TA/RA for the two terms. Plus an additional $4800 over the summer ( if things go well). My tuition fees is the same as domestic students ( nearly $4K). Does it mean I have to be really frugal to survive Vancouver ? :? Please pour in your thoughts

I am not too sure if that's good news ( if we are on the waiting list, that is) I don't like this waiting game . Well no other option anyway. What are the research interests of the folks here. I am interested in theory. It would be nice to know what others are aiming at. Regards

I don't mind a letter which says the obvious things ( strong applicant pool... blah blah) but this is downright rude! Still waiting for my decision though Is today their "take out trash day" . I haven't seen any admits before though ( I might be wrong about this)

Well I submitted my application 20 days before the deadline. And I got that same email asking me to wait for april's first week. What the heck :evil:

I have not heard a damn thing from them since ages. Assuming it is a rejection. I mailed them two days back, and they categorically stated that you will hear from us not later than Mar 15th. Oh well..

Guys Have any of you heard from Gatech ACO programme. I have applied through the CS department. Will the decisions be clubbed along with the normal PhD decisions? If anyone has any information what-so-ever, please post. Thanks

I got in for MS and I think I'll go. Unless UIUC CS, Gatech Aco or Cmu aco sends me an acceptance . And that is a remote possibility

Among people I know, no one has heard from Tepper. Even the math department has not completely finalized it's decisions. I mailed and got this as a reply

Hey My interest is Discrete Mathematics and my undergrad major was Computer Science. I have been offered admission in UBC (masters in math) Here are a few things I'd like to know 1) How does UBC compare with univs in US and Canada? 2) How competitive is UBC and what is the level of teaching? 3) Assuming I do really well in my masters, and apply for a PhD in US ( again discrete math) , Will UBC boost my chances ? I have seen quite a few acceptances posted. Anyone with interest in theory getting through ? We can expect a string of rejects coming soon I guess. Sad, I'm scared :evil:

Any idea about the ACO decisions ? I haven't seen any ACO admits ( from Gatech or from CMU) I applied through the College of Computing
