Hello all! UW seems like the place I may end up, if I can secure at least a glimmer of a hope of future funding. There was another thread somewhere talking about rooming with other future grad students from this forum, would anyone be interested in that? Mmm (I feel silly saying that), you say you already dwell in the Northwest, do you know the Seattle area at all?

1. Buffy/Angel 2. Firefly 3. Six Feet Under 4. Avatar: The Last Airbender (cartoon but SO good) 5. Battlestar Galactica Those are my top 5, but if you're just looking for Potato Chip shows (you can't watch just one....), I'd recommend Dexter, Bones, True Blood and maybe Fringe. I've heard that's good but I haven't watched it yet.

When I was in high school I learned that Penn Jillette had a daughter he named Moxie Crimefighter which I thought was the COOLEST name in existence. I still kind of do. The 42 along with my avatar come from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. -

I agree! I wasn't a big fan of the Ender saga, but was in love with the Shadow series.

Yes!! Sooo good! I read the rest of the series too, both Ender's POV and Bean's. Bean's was way better (The Shadow series, I believe). That series remains on my top 5!

I direct you to this thread: I think it's a good base to start with, assuming you like numbers! But you still have your visits to go, and I think you'll have a rapid change of mind when you visit each one. It's surprising how much you may or may not like a place once you visit. -

I like that this went into your ranking system for your future!!! I think two important things to include in a ranking such as this are happiness of current grad students and how hands on/off the PI is. The second one may be more directed toward the sciences, or any program where research is done. -
Hello! I noticed you are applying to Environmental Science programs! Perhaps you're the mystery person on the results board I've been wondering about. I am also applying to said programs, and the only other environmental sciences person I've found on this site is surprisecake. May I ask what programs you've applied to?
