  1. I imagine the Fulbright IIE would be the only conflict, yes?
  2. Interesting. Is that something we have to inform them of individually?
  3. Does anyone have any info about the timeline for selection or about the ratio of considered applications to awards yet? The press release is so vague.
  4. Did the email say that your application was being forwarded and would be reviewed for final selection?
  5. I'm not sure how other schools are handling it, but my campus Fulbright admin has let students who were selected for consideration know that their applications are being forwarded to Mellon.
  6. You don't have to reapply. They will tell you if your application is being forwarded to the IIE for consideration.

  8. Does anyone know whether the budget cuts will have an impact on the number of grants given?
  9. I am also in the Midwest. I would only start worrying if we don't get something tomorrow. Tuesday to Monday is not that strange for some mail routes here. I guess it's also possible there was more than on batch, but that would be unusual.
  10. Mind sharing your location and the postmark date?
  11. Yes, thank you! Were the questions mostly about your project and your Spanish language background?
  12. I think it's just for particular countries, possibly just for research.
  13. Has anyone had to do an interview in the host language? If so, could you share about the experience?

  16. i assume you're also on the east coast, laska?
  17. sorry mind telling us what part of the country you are in?
  18. that's interesting, thanks for the info. Is that this year's procedure, or a previous one? And do you know the timeline for those steps (ie what happens in feb)? quote name='ConservativeGrad' timestamp='1297781274' post='194549'] I'm really not sure it works like that. At my school we had a meeting with a professor who works for the SSRC. He says a collection of professors get a CD with a number of proposals, which they have to rate. One day they all get together in an office in NYC. There they select number of applicants they automatically accept, and a number they automatically reject (the extreme best, and the extreme worst). It's the middle group they argue about. Ironically this means that no one really talks about the best applications. He didn't say anything about asking for transcripts, but if what he says is accurate, I imagine this is for the middle group. Note, I can't speak for the accuracy of what he said, I'm just saying voer what I heard.
  19. You can check the country summaries on the website to see if Poland requires an interview. If it does, it will be in Polish.
  20. did anyone not get a transcript request and then receive an offer in 2009 or 2010?
