  1. Down to 4 left, although pretty sure Michigan and Indy are implied rejections. Blah.
  2. Just a call from an Oregon number, freaked out, and then called back to find it was just spam. Why does God hate me so much? :(
  3. Anyone know anything about OSU? I know they sent out some acceptances but wondering if they're done yet?
  4. Adding another rejection to my pile. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
  5. Live under a pier with all of my cats. Or get a job, I guess.
  6. Who are these people? How do they restrain themselves from Googling for intel?
  7. I was also wondering about this. Well, no reason to give up hope until you get the official NOPE email.
  8. Ack, apparently ASU never received my transcripts or GRE scores. Waaat. Thankfully they just asked for unofficial copies for now. Good thing I keep everything ever in my Dropbox.
  9. Oh just saw USC acceptance. Super barf. But congrats to hypervodka!!!!
  10. I'm also in OSU limbo. Hmm. Well, I won't give up hope until they send that form rejection.
  11. My cats really hate moving, but they don't get a choice. Sorry, cats! I am dating someone, who could become something more...but we'll cross that bridge (if it even comes) later.
  12. My fave gifs (in no particular order): For those people you just loooooooooooooooove: When my mom wants to talk to me about my future plans: When someone posts something infinitely confusing: When someone posts something that's gonna result in wank: When someone posts something embarrassingly dumb:
  13. Don't give up! It's early days yet. I know when I was applying for MFA programs, there were plenty of people who were passed over by lower tier programs who were then accepted by higher tier programs. It's such a crap-shoot, it really is. And until you get the NO THANKS WE DON'T WANT YOU notices from all of your schools, there's always still hope, whether an outright acceptance or a waitlist spot.
  14. Wow, acceptances already? I thought I had at least another week to avoid stressing myself to death. Congrats everyone!
  15. I would be curious to know what the number of apps ends up being for programs for this year. If there truly are fewer, well, good for all of us!
  16. My plan B is to move somewhere awesome and be a starving artist (writer). Yes, my plans are always very realistic. But in all seriousness, I have a full-time job right now so I won't be SOL if I don't get in anywhere. Although working full-time while doing my MFA was a pain, I did it so upon graduation I wasn't scrambling. I didn't have any work experience/Plan B when I graduated with my BA and had to move back in with my mom; really didn't want to repeat that after my MFA (no matter how much I love my mom!).
  17. Favorite not-so-alive novelists: Jane Austen (above and beyond anyone else, but let's not get me started), Charlotte, Emily & Anne Bronte, George Eliot, Thomas Hardy, Elizabeth Gaskell, if you sense a theme here you'd be correct. Favorite living novelists/writers: Margaret Atwood, Alice Munro, Junot Diaz. Favorite poets: I am total hack who just has never been a big poetry fan. I can appreciate it, but it's not something I'll pick up in my spare time.
