  1. This. Definitely this. Congrats on Yale!
  2. Just wrapped it up here, too! I applied to 10 schools, got into three, got funding at two. It's between UNC and UMinnesota. Going to make my decision after I go to recruitment weekend, but I'm leaning in one direction.
  3. Nope, but there were a few people who listed on the results page that they had been invited for interviews. I applied to ND two years ago, and it took them until the end of March to send me my rejection letter. Based on last year's results, though, it looks like notification went out via email in mid-March, so hopefully we hear something soon.
  4. I don't quite get it either, but that's what they say on their financial aid website. I really don't know why math counts for history, unless you're doing some kind of advanced quantitative history. I would think that my 6 on the AW section would carry more weight. Oh well, the stipend I've heard they offer doesn't sound like a comfortable amount on which to live in NYC anyway. C'est la vie.
  5. Oh yes, I'm incredibly grateful that I'm in at UNC and UMN. Deciding between the two will be difficult. Fordham's trick is this: You have to have been in the 75th percentile on every section of the GRE in order to qualify for funding. My lack of math skills finally came around to bite me in the ass. It's just nice to know that they at least thought me worthy of the program, funding or not.
  6. In at Fordham, but no funding.
  7. I'm currently in MA program at UHM and my fiance is in the PhD program. PM me with questions.

That's me. I heard from them around the 25th of January, the formal offer came a few days later. Funding offer came in about a week ago. From what my PAs told me, they admitted people early to send them up for university fellowships. I suppose that means that final decision have yet to be made.
  9. A friend in my cohort has heard from Cornell. He was accepted sometime in the middle of last week, I think.
  10. Not yet, no. My PA said that the offer is in the mail. Given that I live in Hawaii, it'll probably take some time to get to me!
  11. I got a letter in the mail yesterday informing me that Washington University in St. Louis rejected my application. Heads up for anyone else who applied: Decisions are out.
  12. Congrats on Catholic University! You must be thrilled! Harvard, UPenn, Notre Dame, UCLA, Washington University in St. Louis (WashU), and Fordham have yet to get back to me. Based on what posts I've seen on here, I've got a bad feeling about Harvard and UPenn. Good luck with the rest of your applications!
  13. Hello, gradcafe world! I've been lurking, but I thought I'd join the conversation. I have to say: Coming here and passively commiserating with you all has been quite helpful for my general (in)sanity. I'm a medievalist. Whee. Here's what I know: I've been accepted to both UNC-CH and UMinnesota. Funding offers are pending. I've been rejected by Brown and Columbia. Columbia's rejection was strange. The professor emailed me with some very kind words (for a rejection) telling me that they accepted 6% of their applicants, and they only took 1.5 medievalists (the .5 apparently straddles two periods). I get to relive Columbia's rejection again when the letter comes in the mail in a few weeks. One of the other students in my cohort has received an offer of admission from UWisconsin. He is in the history program here, so I will assume that he applied to history there. Another close friend of mine has been accepted to Ohio State and rejected from UIllinois. He applied to the history departments in both cases. If any of you have applied to Hawaii, the admissions committee has not met yet, and they don't usually meet until March. Be patient, they run on island time. Keep hanging in there, everyone.
