This is on my mind quite a bit. But the fallout from that actually happening is scary to me.

I got accepted to the Sociology PhD in the School of Nursing. I have been living in SF for almost 5 years at this point.

Uh...Email or call the department/program? :?:

That's how I have been processing this whole situation over the past month. THIS WILL ALL BE OVER SOON. The waiting is horrible. I am still waiting on 4 schools and, as the days pass without word, I am thinking they will be more rejections. I do have an acceptance, so it is easier for me than a lot of people on these boards who are waiting and waiting. I like your attitude!

I have had two dreams. One was just hearing from people that CUNY was sending out emails to people and that if I did not get an email, then it meant I was rejected. And I was rejected from CUNY, but they sent it through the post 2 days after I had the dream. And I had a dream just last night about Amherst accepting me with funding. So, who knows? But yes, this bizarre process has invaded my dream world and I don't like it! :roll:

I wrote to three of the six schools I am still waiting on and I got no responses from two and one from another saying that the committee had my file, so the person could not say what the status was on it. They were very nice. I am waiting until the 15th to email all of the programs, just to get an update and see what they say. I tend to think more highly of the programs that take the time to reply to my inquires. Good luck!

Well, I have received an outright rejection (I think I was in the "no way" pile) and an eager acceptance in one week. Other than that, I have not heard a peep from anyone. And the boards are not encouraging because people are saying that some of the programs that I applied to have already accepted them. I am still waiting to hear even a rejection. Maybe this means we are firmly in the middle pile of "Maybes" and when the golden children decline acceptance to those programs, we will be called. However, I think that the committees are still making decisions and that there will be more results in the next two weeks. Generally, I take the results on the boards with a grain of salt because I think sometimes people post things to psyche other people out. But that's just my paranoia talking.
