My application page does not have any decision post either. What does this mean?

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. My suspicions have been aroused many times, especially since I know several professors in the English department (being an English major here, of course). I actually "accused" one of my past professors the other day of being one of my readers. It was pretty ridiculous, and I am embarrassed now. Thankfully, he is a nice guy and understands my anxiety well.

Do you guys think there is any chance of getting an e-mail now that it is after 5:00? I should probably mention that I go to UT Austin as an undergrad and have spoken to the Graduate Coordinator several times. She told me last week that decisions would probably be on her desk on either Feb. 16 or Feb. 28. So, I am confused why these decisions came out today. I just e-mailed her to ask about this.

Rhetoric is a concentration under the English Ph.D. program. I don't see why acceptance e-mails would be sent separately to applicants in each concentration. It is still the same program.

20/x is probably better odds than 8/300 or more (Stanford), for sure, yet I wish I knew how many applications they get.

I can. My phone broke on Friday. I had an acceptance call. I didn't see the voicemail until Saturday when my phone started working again. It was unfortunate since I was also rejected somewhere on Friday; knowing about the acceptance really would have made the day better--so, yes, complete understanding. My ApplyTexas says the same thing, just checked.

How many does UT Austin accept? I have been trying to figure this out.

Wait, mine says something different: it says "forwarded to committee for review." Does yours not say that?

I really wish we could ask the one accepted person if it was a personal email or a mass email. If it was a mass email, then we were probably rejected or waitlisted. Otherwise, still hope.

Hello everyone! I am creating this topic for applicants accepted to the Rice MAT for Fall 2011. On Feb. 18, I received a phone call from Olga, the Program Coordinator, saying that I had been admitted and was being offered a full tuition waiver. I would like to know who else was admitted and start a discussion about the program/Houston. I visit Rice a couple times a year, since one of my best friends is doing her undergrad there. My experiences on the campus and in the surrounding area have been very positive.

I have read the thread. But I was asking Lyonessrampant if he/she knew for sure. I am assuming a rejection, but it would be nice to know if someone actually knew for sure. Some schools have two decision-making rounds.

Or are you just taking the non-response as an implied rejection?

To the person who responded above: Sorry to ask this, but how do you know you were rejected by Chicago? I have not heard anything from Chicago.

Does anyone know how many applicants Washington usually accepts and how many applications they usually receive? I know this can vary by year. But an estimate would be much appreciated.

So will we know tomorrow if the "last" committee meeting is tomorrow??

This is pathetic. I am an English, Philosophy,and Spanish tutor at a community college. Presently, the learning center is empty. Hence, I am doing absolutely nothing but surfing CG (the fact that I have started to call it " CG" frightens me, since I am not even a Facebook user).

How do you guys think we will be finding out? E-mail, phone call, website (Embark)? If that someone from the department is surfing around on here....
