  1. Still waiting for mine! Cutting it close since I have to give a deposit if I choose to attend by Sunday...
  2. I've had some friends live in Northern Liberties and it has definitely boomed a lot in the past few years. It's pretty trendy with a lot of restaurants, bars, newer development and you can walk to old city from there or hop on the subway easily. Center City is great and I've never had a problem since I've lived here. As long as you don't look for trouble or go out by yourself at 2AM you should be fine There's affordable housing in really all of the neighborhoods if you surf Craigslist religiously like I do! If you are looking for night life, I recommend Old City, Northern Liberties, "Midtown Village" or Rittenhouse. For quieter living, Society Hill, Queen's Village, Washington Square or Fitler Square. I've never lived in the Fairmount area but I've heard good things. I also have some friends that live in south philly/graduate hospital area and love it there. Usually a bit cheaper housing but they do bike almost everywhere and don't rely on public transportation or walking.
  3. I'm not going to Grad school in Philadelphia but I have lived here for the past 7 years and went to Drexel for my undergrad if anyone has questions about the city at all =)
  4. Anyone else accepted to SVA that has not received their acceptance/enrollment information in the mail? I just heard from the department (Products of Design) by email that I was accepted 3/26 but I need to accept or decline the offer by April 15th. So nice to give me a week and a half I haven't received anything in the mail yet from them or SAIC and I'm really hoping it all comes this week so I can really make the best decision...
  5. Don't give up hope, these things work in mysterious ways Maybe they haven't made all of their decisions yet!
  6. I was accepted to the MDes Designed Objects program via phone by one of the program's faculty on the 23rd. I know another person posted the same thing in the results survey... did you apply to the same program? I read somewhere some programs are calling to alert students of their decisions because mail results are all backed up. Side note - was anyone else accepted to SVA's Products of Design MFA program? I'm hoping to receive all of my SAIC info in the mail before April 15th, since that is the SVA deadline to reserve my spot :\ So soon and so much to think about!
