I'm so sorry to hear this mmagpie4. I've been rejected by Ford before so I know it sucks. I applied for the predoctoral and haven't heard anything yet. I'm going to attempt to enjoy the day and see what awaits me in my inbox tonight

Mine says that as well. This was their first year using this system, so I'm guessing they decided to allow ample time for submissions just in case some glitch occur. If they didn't review your app you would have received a notification letting you know that you did not meet the qualifications. So don't worry I'm sure you app was reviewed ... Cheers and good luck I'm guessing we should all begin to hear back on friday just like the previous years. My nerves are setting in

I also applied to the NYU American Studies PHD and received the same email. I had the same reaction. So insulting because I already have an MA and then just laughable! O NYU!

I'm so on edge right now about the Ford Fellowship. I applied for the pre-doctoral and this my second time applying. Last year I received Honorable Mention which is something BUT without the money it isn't much! I'm presenting at a conference this week. I am hoping not to find out the bad news before I present or else it will kill my confidence completely!

Yes the Ford continues to becoming increasingly harder to get! I applied for the predoctoral and the chances are much slimmer. I believe they receive 1000+ applications for the predoc.

The countdown begins! We should here from the Ford Foundation in a month (maybe less)!

Hey! I'm also heading to Northwestern in the Fall. I'm planning to live in the Lincoln Park or Lakeview areas with my spouse. It will make our commutes somewhat equal. We're also used to city life and aren't interested in the suburban experience of Evanston just yet.

Congrats to the Yale accept! Does anyone want to claim it? :-)

Hey All, I received a phone call from Professor Biondi. She said the department would follow up with the official letter soon. Admit weekend will be held the first weekend in March. Best of luck to you all!

MTLs decisions usually are sent out the second or third week of February so we should be hearing really soon!
