Hey there, I heard from them via email on the 7th of March -- they were actually the first school I heard from... albeit only having applied to four places. Then a few days later I received the same letter via post. Are you waiting on MA or PhD? I, too, expected to see more Claremont-action, since I feel like I've heard so much about that school in my field (studies of gender/women/the body in Xtian history). But therein lies the rub -- The MA in Women's Studies in Religion is perfect fit for people with those "niche" interests, which is probably why I've heard so much about it from mentors, professors, etc.

Awesome, congrats on your acceptance. Are you applying to the PhD program or to the joint MA/PhD? (I am to the latter, in Christianity). I wonder if they have slightly separate timelines for those two pools... I was told the MA/PhD was very competitive, so I'll be quite shocked if they accept me. I heard from a friend who got rejected last year that they finally replied in "mid to late March". Guess we've crept into "mid" March now!

Anyone applying/heard from UCSB? Seems like they take a notoriously long time to respond (deadline was Dec 1st). They've got me on my toes. Hope they throw me a bone well before the beginning of April!

Hi all, I'm applying to MA & MA/PhD programs in Religious Studies, and am waiting to hear from UCSB. I just got accepted at Claremont yesterday, and they only had a month to review my application, whereas UCSB's deadline for my department was Dec 1st. Wondering if there are any other UCSB Religious Studies MA/PhD candidates/hopefuls out there... a friend who got rejected last year told me he didn't hear from UCSB until "mid-late March". Not sure if I want to make Claremont wait that long... oY!
