  1. None of the questions on my GRE were identical to any of the practice questions I did, both with PowerPrep and GRE prep books. There was one vocab word that I remembered having studied a day or two prior to the test, but it was contained within a question written very differently than where I had originally encountered it.
  2. I'm another one who's been out of school for 5+ years. I'm planning to ask my current boss (she has a Ph.D., but not in Education), a colleague who basically hired me (she has a Master's in Education) and....then the third's kind of up in the air as far as whether I go with a different colleague whose work I've been editing, or another former boss, now colleague of mine. I won't be asking my former professors, though. Hope that's useful! By the by, I have a personal statement requirement for one of the schools I"m applying to, so if you have that on top of the SOP too, I'd mention the illness in there, perhaps.
  3. My first SOP draft is 540ish words and comes out to just one page. I don't have any recent/relevant research background, and similarly I don't have recent faculty to reference, so it's mostly about my current employment. If I go on and on about work situations that illustrate my interests (and expand the SOP), is that too repetitive? Thanks! Hopefully I can work up a slightly more creative second draft that'll be better/longer...
