  1. The article I referred to was in a business publication. I work in the manufacturing field, and the countries with the most active development are Russia, China, and South America, so businesses need employees with those languages. Many companies that have been in China and South America for a long time are now building plants in Russia, and there seems to be a shortage of managers who speak the language.
  2. There are actually quite a few. I know Clemson and Texas A&M both offer an MS in Marketing; and while not as prestigious, so do Univ of Cincinnati and Franklin University.
  3. I don't know anything about the specific programs you are looking at; but as someone born and raised in Ohio, I can tell you that RPI has an outstanding reputation in these parts. So much so that if you tell someone you went there, you'll get a "WOW! Did you really?"
  4. Interesting that the voting scale ending at 36... I am about to turn 46; but since I am applying to business programs, I don't think it will hurt me at all. Most of the MBA programs I looked at require you to have work experience in a business environment before you can apply.
  5. I am 46 and still haven't figured out what I want to do with my life! I am taking the practical route with grad school rather than following my passion. After working for so many years, it is hard to give up a decent salary to take an entry level job in a completely different field. Oh, if only reading library books and watching Law and Order re-runs translated into a career!
  6. I love my iPad - the contrast between print and page is the best I've seen. I have the Sony e-reader, and I looked at the Kindle; but I can do so much more on the iPad. People always talk about not being able to read in direct sunlight - but how often do you actually do that? I've had mine for almost a year, and I've yet to run into that problem.
  7. I recently read an article about this - Russian, Spanish and Chinese are supposed to be the languages employers (civilian and government) seek most now. I just bought Rosetta Stone Spanish, and it is too early to say if I will be successful with it; but the government does use it to teach its people a new language very quickly.
