  1. I feel ya. Turns out the first round of acceptances went out to U of Louisville applicants (comp/rhet PhD). Two people posted their acceptances (via email) on the survey board. I didn't receive anything, which means either I'm still being considered or rejected. Ohhh, the waiting game...
  2. Oh, I dream about this often. I think they'll say something like, "Wow! She has a lot of conference presentations under her belt for her age. Wait. Whoa. Look at her GRE scores!! Seriously!? Why did she even bother applying?? Next!" : /
  3. I think emailing is fine, as long as it's not excessive. Checking in on things is normal, and they're used to it. I emailed about my app status throughout my MA process (applied to 16 schools), and I got into 12. Don't stress! It's not bad luck.
  4. This is my last semester of my MA. I'm only taking one class and teaching one...and then there's that thesis of mine. Basically, this lovely cartoon of yours is the story of my life this semester so far.
  5. Anyone on here applying to comp/rhet PhD programs? If so, where to? I'm finishing up my MA this semester. If I don't get in anywhere, I'll adjunct for a few years. I just heard from one yesterday (Monday): "We are making initial decisions in a few days. At that point, you will either get an offer, a rejection letter, or be on the waitlist. If you don't get contacted, you are still being considered. As you likely know, the decision date by national convention is April 15 for people to accept or reject offers, so waitlist activity typically starts heating up around then." Good luck, all! Sarah
