@woosah: Tell me about it! I sometimes feel like it would have been better if my POI didn't tell me that, I could have witnessed magic one fine day just like that! Now I have turned into an insomniac who refreshes his inbox and the university portal every 5 minutes from 8pm to 4 in the morning!

Thank you all for your reassuring responses. I hope they let me know real fast, can't wait any longer!

I contacted my POI at one of the schools I applied to, he said the dept. has recommended me for admission, now the Graduate School has to do some processing and they'll let me know about the decision in a few days. This was about a week back but still I haven't heard anything from that school. On their portal my Application Status has now changed to "Recommended" but Admission Decision is still "Decision Pending". Maybe I am over-thinking it but can someone get rejected by the Graduate Office even when the dept. has shown the green signal? And how long does it take for the Grad Office to make a decision and let the candidate know, anyone having any idea or anyone who has/is facing the same situation?

@dat_nerf: VTech one was okay...UC Merced one is scheduled for this Saturday early morning. What about you? Edit: Oh I just saw your signature now, congrats on getting the two admits! Did they interview you before handing out the decision? And what about funding? And in general how good are one's chances if they have been summoned for an interview by his/her POI?

cstheory13: Notre Dame, South Carolina, Indiana and Colorado State. Every Friday I expect a decision and frantically check my inbox right after coming back from work...and what do I get? Zilch! Nada! A potful of nothing! I am so out of my mind! :'(

The first batch of CS admits shall be out very soon, maybe within the next two weeks and the whole of February. That's what the grad coordinators told me.
