I will enter the US 2 months before the class starts. Here's what I plan to do: I will enter the US by using tourist VISA which I already have (I will be honest to the immigration about my intention - to look for an apartment and visit friends) And I will go out to Canada (again to travel) then enter the US with F1 VISA when in the 30-day window period. I learned this from my friend who did it last year and it went really well so I thought I'd share it with you

I was about to start a similar thread so I decided to put it here, hope you don't mind. I emailed my POI to ask about my application status. He said he has forwarded his recommendation to the program director, then it will be passed on to the dean's office and I will be notified in a week. The word 'recommendation' kinda confuses me. Is it possible that he has passed on his recommendation by not recommending me to the program and I will be rejected? He should've used the word 'decision' instead. It really freaks me out right now. but still have my hopes up tho

Hi everyone! Most likely I will be attending Penn this Fall. Could anybody give me a rough idea on which area suits to my preferences. I need a place which is 1. Safe at night (since I might attend some evening classes which will finish at night) 2. I'm a big city guy so I can't live in a super quiet place, and since I'll be living alone I need to make sure loneliness won't get me down 3. I don't plan to buy a car, and I don't mind walking a rather long distance (I can bike, if needed) 4. Convenient in terms of restaurants, supermarkets & etc 5. Beautiful neighborhoods is definitely a plus Thank you!

waiting for UPenn to arrange an interview. It's been 9 DAYS. I'm getting impatient right now archhhh

I said it last week, then I got an email saying I am shortlisted for an interview with the statement 'it is likely we will offer you an admission' So yes! I'm waiting for this interview and THIS will be a good week. I will get accepted!

I set up the push notification on my iphone, then removed all other email accounts so any new emails that come in to this inbox is related to my graduate admission. This way I don't need to keep refreshing a page at all
